Just wrapping up the big part of my move to the new place. I've enjoyed getting to make up for some lost time with my biodad, but it'll also be nice to not have to drive hours to get to work, school, or my friends. Also because I'll be getting my cats back... I miss them dearly.

In other news, returned from a trip to the northern wilderness of MI with my dad, hiking through dunes, stump fields, old-growth forests, and an abandoned logging camp from the 1800s. The early days of Autumn are one of my favorite times of the year, and spending it surrounded by glacier-carved hills and lakes, and ancient birch and pine woodlands is even better.

Biodads, less driving, the return of the cats, abandoned 19th century logging camps and glacier-carved hills! Is there any kind of amazing stuff this post does not contain good news of?

My friends and I have determined that putting the word "Space" in front of anything and talking in Super Nerd™ is the most awesome space thing ever, and if you do it around your space friends you're guaranteed that everyone will start talking the same space way.Space Lost in Space Space
Now I'm going to space bed right after I get some space water and brush my space teeth with my space brush. It's that time of space day.

It... isn't hans an underwear brand name? My brain seems to be making that connection, and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's socks, I'unno.

Spent about 8 hours homebrewing for Truespeech after falling off that wagon for a few weeks. Back on the horse/mismatched metaphor! Also, mangling Old Norse for class names. Drakespeaker -> Drekmaelir, for instance. I don't know a goddamn thing about the language, but I don't even care.

Good, I've been following that project >:O
Well the bad news is I have errands and work tomorrow, so no more progress. Maybe I'll have things to post by Tuesday after next. G'damn busy time of year.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

So for my Pandora listening needs, I've simply decided to move my the piano and soft cello music it's own channel. This is proving to be an amazing decision since now there's no genre whiplash going on in my listening time, and this music is just so fucking smooth and classy it's unbelievable.

Some songs, I don't know what it is, but it's this subtle thing that just hits me hard and fast, and I'm just instantly moved, instantly touched. It's not often that music has that kind of effect on me.

And Dan Gibson is the man, listen to this song. I don't care what you're doing right now, just listen to this:

Someone in the ToME4 chat actually recognized which Frumple this username was inspired by, a good decade and a half or so ago. First time that's happened, so far as I can remember. It's surprisingly cheering! Though that might also be the fact that it's 2:30 in the morning and I'm still awake, hum.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Nice going! :D I've been planning to do kinda the same thing, just y'know, on a different continent.
I have one place lined up to check out, but I should probably look at a few more.
Are you coming to this continent?
Sadly, no.  :-\ That was in response to Kaijyuu's post before mine- I mean, I'd be doing it on a different continent to where he is.
Maybe one day when I'm over there visiting extended family I can come visit all of you.

The sexy continent is whatever continent he currently is on :)
Also this is probably correct.  8)
