Or "Task". Or "Talent". Or "Competency". Or (the one that I use,) "Proficiencies".

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I can shuffle things around well enough with those (too sleepy to really decide, but lots of ideas). You guys are awesome, which makes this on topic I'm pretty sure.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Got lots of study done today.

The sheer amount I have to know is crazy.

I know your plight, I just passed Metabolic Biochemistry, and frankly it was a just thing. The teacher gave us a list of 90 questions he might ask us, that cover every single part of the subject, but I'm really happy I get a question I know.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

I never thought I would feel happy with being idle (waiting on a call for work right now; not doing much else in case I'm needed for something else in short notice (which kinda sucks because it's beautiful weather out, and I want to go for a walk.)). After 3 weeks of non-stop working (cleaning houses and condos (and mostly carpets), and assisting with a few repairs for things that causes some problems that causes more (and additional) work (water leaks and such; potential mold and mildew (not fun work))), I'm back to my old, somewhat harder to predict schedule again now that the guy I was taking the place of (essentially an always on-call "2nd in command"-ish position) returned; they were on a 2-week vacation, and I was given a bit more work so they can readjust for one more week. Already feeling a bit more relaxed, even though I'm still waiting for a call from one of my jobs that's active today.

Sure, my income has reduced quite a bit (back to normal; was effectively making double income previously), but at least I'm not getting burned out every week (personally, I'm a job satisfaction > Income kind of guy. I prefer to enjoy my job, rather than make crap-tons of income at the cost of enjoyment; but if I can have both, then it's a bonus). Gotta say, it was a nice profitable couple weeks. At least I can pay my bills and get my car fixed, and maybe still have something in reserve leftover. So nice to have free time again, as well as my normal sleep schedule/rhythm again. I am so much not a morning person, and I had to wake up in the early morning (AKA- Regular work hours) for 3 weeks in a row. My body's still not used to it. Definitely sleeping in for the next few available days.

Oh, and welcome back Duke.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Caught Prometheus this weekend. Despite some weak characters (CEO/Bitch Queen of the Universe, I'm looking at you and your lack of character development), David the android made up for it. I really liked the setting, and the feel of slowly uncovering the secrets of a desolate planet. I also like how, despite being an Alien prequel movie, they minimized the importance of The Alien in favor of other plot elements and stuff, to tell a story that wasn't dealing with the same themes from Alien and/or Predator.

The plot definitely had weak points; for a trillion-dollar expedition into deep space, they were pretty poorly prepared, and few of the explorers had the right mindset for the mission. Even though it was funded by an eccentric billionaire, I'd imagine you'd spend more time handpicking people for something this important, rather than raffling off seats on your "Origin of the Species Express", lest it turn into the "U.S.S. Natural Selection". Also, speaking of Natural Selection, there was a lot of needless gore there; I almost couldn't watch large parts of the film because they showed every bit of gore they could at times. It got to be really disgusting at parts, and I think it could have gone a little lighter on that and still served its purpose.
