I have seperated my computer into two desktops, WORK and PROCRASTINATE. I put Nethack and telnet on PROCRASTINATE and the rest on WORK. I actually got my stuff done before midnight, and it makes me very happy.

Had a FRC District event yesterday/Friday. So awesome. My team's alliance made it to finals. The team we lost to curb stomped their quarterfinal and semifinal opponents, but we came close in the first match and then got curb stomped ourselves.

I'm not disappointed, as the other robots were very good. We got in two triple balances (in which all three robots on an alliance are balanced, including a match in the finals with both alliances triple balanced.

In that picture, my team is 573; it's the rightmost robot on the blue alliance. 67 (rightmost red) was undoubtedly the best robot in the event, and 469 was very good as well. Our seats are the crowd of orange near the top of the far stands (I'm in the left half of the front row), and one of our partners (3098, middle blue) is the group right in front of us.

Interestingly enough, there were 573 teams competing this weekend. Good luck to any othe FRC participants here; I hope we meet you in St. Louis.

Also, FIRST makes me happy because it gives me hope for this state. It's not quite Starcraft:Korea::FRC:Michigan levels, but it's up there.

After an irritatingly long and tiring surprise house-move, I have both the time and inclination to log on to B12 again. Hooray!

Also, went to my first LARP event a week ago, and it was awesome. Got another next week, too!

It's ridiculously good fun, even if I do end up stiff as a board, bruised and blistered at the end of it.

I'm just monstering at the moment, but I'm going to make a character for the first 'big' event of the year. I'm playing Lorien Trust, if you're interested.

Quesadillas in the cafeteria today, which is pretty good since I slept too late to make lunch. They've been asked to bake them by default, but if you ask they'll still deep fry em, and let me tell you they are delicious that way. Plus, due to luck at the vending machine, I paid a net 65 cents for a bottle of soda.

Interesting tip that's worked for me before in airports. In some airports without free wi-fi if you put ".jpg" at the end of the url it will sometimes go through since they don't usually block .jpg images in your browser.
