I forgot to mention this last night. But I actually read and enjoyed Cupcakes the other day. I can see why it's considered infamous. But I enjoyed the read anyway.

I used to do that too when I was learning japanese. Except, I was learning german as well, when I was 12-15 years old, and so i'd accidentally drop a german word when I was speaking japanese and vice versa... 'Ichi, ni, drei, vier, funf, roku...'

At one stage I could've been considered quadrilingual, if you count 'Probably able to barely get by' as being able to use a language.

English = perfect.
Indonesian = would be able to ask for things, etc... not really anything in depth.
German = Capable of basic conversation.
Japanese = capable of complex conversation.

Now it's:

English = perfect
Indonesian = not really anything past time of day, colours, etc.
German = Not really any anymore
Japanese = Snippets, broken jap.

I need to go learn some Dutch. are there any good tutors in the melbourne area?

You getting them off off or are you getting the main ones off and getting a permanent set put on? Thats what I've had to do on the bottom with a retainer on the top. While its nice being able to eat alot of stuff normally again you still have to be careful sometimes.
From what I hear, off off. Then I get a retainer put in after winter break.

If you count only snippets I know many different languages. My skill with language is more being able to guess what they're talking about and be more or less correct.
Just for fun, I listen to the Greek or Russian or Japanese or Sri Lankan news on SBS just to see how much i can understand.

I remember being able to completely translate a Japanese news report on Tamiflu a few years back, except that I didn't translate Tamiflu. Couldn't fathom what 'Tamifuru' would be.

The Japanese system of transliteration is hilarious sometimes. In year twelve I had to write an essay on a place I visited recently. I chose Wilson's Promontory. GODDAMN IT WAS HARD TO WRITE. Wirusonzu Poromontori.

And so, a lemon becomes a diamond.

So long as the new hard drive stays alive in this machine, I'm back up and running. With the same performance as was expected from this machine.(Only loss is raw hard disk space, 320 GB, we even got a 7200 RPM in the end.)
