Crawl is still one of my favoritest games after all this time. And I used it to show my girlfriend how rougelikes work, what kinda stuff you do in it. And because I wasn't paying attention what a YASD is! XD

Surprisingly she liked what she saw and wants to give it a try later on. So maybe Ill have someone to compete on my high score page with .D

Thinking about it. A private server to have scores and stuff of my friends only would be cool.

Amazing, it's just awesome.

Meanwhile, Aqizzar and I have some really deep convos involving the psychology in fears such as Philosophical fear, and the fear of the unknown, and about rational fears and the whole business.
If I was any good at keeping notes, this would make really good document content or something.

Back from two extremely low-tech weeks. No internet, no tv, no news, cell phone coverage only intermittently (and irrelevant since I kept it off anyway).

You mean it makes it look all clean and shiny while it's still encrusted with dirt and soot and could blow at any minute?

You do not convince me. You rationalize your actions and because the result is favorable you become right.

I was enjoying reading that thread until I saw they were offering female sacrifices again  ::)

You guys will be proud to hear that I only reported the guy, rather than shredding him.  It was a close thing, but I didn't want the topic to derail with my divine fury.

EDIT: Also happy because a lot of other people came in and posted a nicer version of what I was going to say.  I just commented on the article to let them know I was there.  Uh, and I also was going to comment anyway, because it was a neat article.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I haven't, either. Maybe they were deleted.

Oh my gosh, I just got hit with this massive wave of nostalgia. When I was younger I used to be this HUGE dance dance revolution fanboy -- I didn't like most of the music, I just LOVED playing the game! Later I would go on to download Stepmania and find it magical, and I had two of my own USB dance mats. Then I discovered I could make playable tracks out of my own music (which lead to my obsession with synthesized video game music or video game style music that I still have today). I had like a hundred tracks spanning Fire Emblem, Mario, Sonic, Final Fantasy...

But that was a few years ago. Today I was linked to Stepmania again for the first time, and my GOD it was improved. I downloaded the old track-generating program I had in ye olde days and made tracks out of a bunch of Touhou music. I don't have any dance mats, but it's similarly fun to play with the keyboard, especially since I can play the hard versions of songs more easily that way (my dance mats always had a problem where they wouldn't register up+down stomp combos).

This is just the best. I will always love DDR.
