Did you play Tactics?

It's my favorite one in the series.

That's one of the ones I haven't played, just seen a little of.  Might have to go check it out.

Tactics is pretty good, and of course I shall get Vincent, my completionist side would demand it in any case

Huzzah!  There's a certain glitch that happened with him which is... well... oh man.  Just tell us when you're done, so I can tell that story without sounding like a tool.

Bah, it's my second-favorite D:

I quit FFVI halfway through, after I found out that I missed the mog knight  :-\
FF: Tactics, just like Tactics Ogre, got awfully repetitive after a while.

Really? Many think VIII is one of the worst in the series. Tried it, felt like a lot of parts were unnecessary, the game was just necessarily long, the plot was just...bleh, the mechanics weren't interesting...

8 had a whole lot of highly charged stuff. Either you loved it or it was all work and nothing much enjoyable about it. Tactics had several design problems that you could either see past or couldn't take. The story was difficult to follow, but the motivations were handled pretty well. 9 was amazing and doesn't get enough praise, but had an art style that was weird to handle.

People have good enough reasons to both love and hate all games from 7 and on. Except 10-2 and on. Those were just bad and I'll only accept counterarguments in the form of an essay on the gameplay elements that worked well from a game design standpoint as well as a critical look at the flow of the narrative. You can chose to add in analysis of the symbolism in it so long as you chose elements that were not lifted from previous games.

10-2 was pretty love/hate as well.

I dunno, I guess I don't mind that sort of repetitive. I maxed out the time in FFT. I also play Disgaea, so go figure.
