We just had a regional blackout. Normally that would be bad, but I found a neat stick when walking the dog.

I like my stick. It's straight and hard and almost as long as my leg.

Well I just made and uploaded my first video, for testing purposes.
Now, if I manage to fix a couple of minor problems, I might be able to start a LP soon :D

So, checked the readme that was included in this pirated copy of Rosetta Stone I grabbed.
Apparently, it's from a Japanese person trying to learn English.
I love finding stuff like that.

I've heard that English is the hardest language to learn. That said, I doubt I could possibly learn any any other language other than a few scattered words.

English is easy to pick up, but hard to master.
It's because its grammar conventions are so loose and its vocabulary comes from so many different sources.

Many of the hardest languages, like Navajo and Finnish and Swahili and such are born from generations of cultural isolation by a society that wasn't big on writing things down.  English was a language born by and for making pidgin negotiation with one invader after another.  It's one of the few languages with so many different grammar arrangements that you can just throw together words in any order, and a listener will probably get the idea from context.  After a while, that became a feature rather than a bug.
