What, you guys don't use cursive? Since we learned it in second, I abandoned print for it.
See, I was lied to about cursive, so I don't use it out of spite. They said we would have to use it constantly after elementary school, and I spent countless hours in fifth grade being forced to write in it untill my hand constantly hurt from all the practice. And then we never once were required used it after that point. I have the entire cursive alphabet memorized, and I will never use it for anything other than signatures because of their lies.

They're all loopy hell and insanity.
As is the rest of the thrice-accursed tongue!

My state recently switched from the WASL to the HSPE test, and it was most glorious. four hours of testing instead of eighteen. I actually got maximum points on the essay section because they don't grade your opinions. I got to be all vociferous about public displays of affection. I said that those who do not display their affection publicly should have their left third fingernail removed and replaced with a mirror so that they can see how disgusting not kissing people in public is. But the conventions and spelling were great!

I use cursive to write older women letters, as well as whenever I need to be formal.  You also absolutely have to be able to write (German) cursive if you're going to do mathematics, because capital script letters are used to name a lot of things.

Is the Greek alphabet not enough? Do we use German now?

You also use Greek, but formal mathematical script uses the German capital letters.

German uses the latin alphabet (except for the umlaut and esset). Explain how German capital letters are different.

Math script
Standard American cursive

I can't give you a source, because the script I saw was in a German children's book, probably printed before 1945.  But it's a different cursive, which looks exactly like the first link and very little like the second.

My forum game has reached 200 standard pages, apparently.

Good lord, I never expected it to reach that far. I thought I'd lose interest in writing stuff a while ago and forget about it, but nope.

More of a "Wow..." than a Happy, but still.
