More people are getting drawn into DF thanks to me (and i haven't played it in a way too long time, i feel dirty because of it) and schools been great today, some new proffesors, some new interesting classes and best of all, the boredom will soon kick in with it's endless well of inspiration

I figured out a way to overlay 100-year old land grant maps as a KML for Google Earth. I'm gonna crank out a set of them for the county I was born in and send it to their historical society as a present.

It helps that it's Iowa--the whole damn Midwest is one giant grid system, which makes manual overlays a snap.

I'm on car number 4. Having a car you really enjoy is a blast. Also, being able to change your own tires and oil and whatnot is a good way to save money. (Unless you're like me, who gets free oil changes from his dealership every 3k miles. ^_^)
Lucky Americans are lucky. We can get our licence only when we're 17.5, and then we have another year or two where we must drive with an adult. And we all get drafted at age 18.

I got my license at 19. The military wouldn't take me because I have several holes in my spine.

Just got back from practice, tired, beaten and with blisters on my feet, but dammit do i feel good, all that extra energy is finnally out, a great way to relieve one of stress.
And now on to watching Heroes :)

I got my driving permit while I was away from the forum. While it is cool that I'll be getting my drivers license next year, it also sucks because what I really want are a motorcyclists license and an aviation license, which you need to be 17 for.

Unfortunately, it's not piercings. I have a not so rare genetic condition called Spina Bifida Occulta combined with what they call a Pars Defect, again in combination with recurring microfractures along several of my vertebrae.

Essentially speaking, I walk around with a broken back. It sucks, and there's nothing that my doctor is willing/able to do about it.
