I just crossed a smashed, dilapidated highway bridge twenty feet above the ground that had been colonized by raiders. I killed each and every single one with one bullet from a statistically improbable distance save one, who I killed with a rocket. I was low on ammo the entire time, managed to avoid being discovered three times and I fucking did it, man. Just because I could.

Sometimes a game, for all its occasionally mind bogglingly stupid moments, for all its flaws, for all its censorship (except that that's the Australian governments fault. GEE THANKS GUYS, I'VE BEEN SAVED FROM BECOMING A MURDEROUS PSYCHOPATH), can make you love it in one play through.

Took an unofficial day off from work to put together a surprise farewell get-together for a friend of mine. I made Boston Cream Pie Cupcakes from scratch, and decorated them like little d6s, made him a set of CDs of the BBC Radio Drama adaptations of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series (he's got a lot of driving to do), and got our circle of friends to drop by his house as a surprise farewell.

It was a bittersweet day, but I'm glad I got a chance to say goodbye. It takes me a long time to open up to friends, and I'm really going to miss him, our game nights, our camping trips and paintballing... but I'm really glad I got a chance to know him.
