I just lost half my squad to a guy in a power suit under alien mind control.
Then he got killed.

Why is he wearing his Riddick goggles?

I've seen a video of a snake eating a bird...
That's nothing. Ever watch a pelican eat a pigeon?
I found something pretty funny in the comments:

"I think what people are forgetting is that the pelican had no right to eat the pigeon. As we all know, all animals are vegan and adhere to a strict diet of water and lettuce before going on an afternoon run with their personal trainer, Sebastian."

Why would he ever take them off?

Just for fun, I'm going to locate all of the tropes that apply to the main character of the story I'm writing.
Obviously, some of them will only apply sometimes because he changes appearance quite a bit, but still...
Will update with a list ASAP.

I got much more excercise in today than usual which I can now waste away on being lazy and eating cake.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Immortality Type III, even then:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LikeABadassOutOfHell
Sort of, as there is no Hell, technically, it's just a vast, inescapable desert, but he makes a deal with the gods and becomes a Grim Reaper.
Also sort of. He doesn't go out of his way to ferry the dead to the afterlife, he only deals with people who die while he's nearby.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BornLucky another sort of, as he gains his luck by beating the goddess of luck in a game of poker. This is also how he gained reaper status.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OlderThanTheyLook Comes standard with immortality
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AFatherToHisMen
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SlidingScaleOfAntiHeroes Type IV
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BloodBrothers
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BadassLongcoat Sometimes
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TookALevelInBadass Happens slowly and correlates to his detachment from the world.
He's got [urlhttp://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PowerLevels]power levels[/url], but less like DBZ power levels as the article implies and more like Alucard from Hellsing. He also has a Superpowered Evil Side at the final level.
Of course... http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity he slowly becomes more detached the more he uses his powers. Though that may be just a side effect of brutally killing people.

Meanwhile, I stumbled upon a hilarious sentence explaining why the events of Death Note occurred:
"Ryuk was bored."

Okay, screw it, this list is taking too long.
Here's about 3/5 of it.
Rough estimate.
Some of them seem hard to find.

I just embarked on an expensive invasion into India and following the relatively easy occupation of a coastal city my eager expansionism leads me immediately into an incredibly costly and bloody battle that wins me a city so utterly pissed off at me it's going to riot the hell out of the place next turn, and I'm making no money off it and my budget is razor thin, meaning I've killed two thousand men in what's going to end up a protracted war of atrittion which I can't possibly support.

My first Pyrrhic victory. I'm so proud.

I downloaded Ren'Py.
I guess now would be a good time to develop better drawing skills.
Meanwhile, it's 3 in the morning and I'm not tired at all, despite doing manual labour during the sun-cursed hours.

Reality. Haven't you heard? India was just invaded by a random person with no apparent backing and a giant army.

It's alright, a bit boring though. The combat system isn't too fun, and magic hasn't been implemented yet. The new "future" expansion sounds promising though.

The devs keep on rolling back the release date, though.

The graphics are pretty awesome too.

As for the game, sounds like Empire Total War.
