This, however, is crappy:

Got old dead names from English Lit
Droppin' like they movin' still
Passin' 'em like they still hit
Or lookin' for Hafiz and Chill

Ain't our words and ain't our doin's
Gotta drop 'em past their prime
Out with old and in with new 'uns
Hop it, Pops - It's rhymin' time!

With prose like most
And rhymes like slime;

This is poetry peer pressure, I'm just saying.

Yeah, I'm going to have to stay out of this here oneupmanship, because I'm terrible at poetry, haven't made an attempt since school, in fact.

Now prose, prose is fine. It gets the message across, without decorating it unnecessarily in rhythm and rhyme.


That's not so say that poetry doesn't have a place, far from it, but it has no match for the sheer utilitarian usefulness of prose. Can you imagine a manual, or a textbook, written in verse? It would be, aside from being nearly impossible to write, nigh useless for its intended purpose.

At the same time, things that verse generally proposes to be its strong points, matters of the heart, of wordplay, and humor, are just as easily done in prose, with the same amount of effectiveness.

So clearly, prose is the far superior writing form.

okay, which is most likely to get attention/respect:

1. a mod for the elder kings mod for crusader kings 2

2. a dumb video on the history of the elder scrolls world from before its creation to the moment time started or the video gets to be 10 minutes long, whichever comes last

3. a high-level memory hacking library for super metroid

4. a completed mashup of death by glamour and roundabout (link is proof-of-concept, mostly), which works mostly due to jojo connections

Seriously though I don't think I can juggle all of that and school and Fortbent and Sparking, since those are going to get updates as Homestuck finishes and Dragon Ball Super continues respectively.
