I just got back. Its nothing new. 7 cavities in a period of 6 months is my record.

But i got the gas again. Third time. Novacaine. Love it. The Euphoria is amazing. Hands are holding eachotehr insides out and backwards. Im on the ceiling, the dentist is telling me things and somehow without knowing, i'm doing them.

But this time it was different. Either im getting used to the high, or they cut back on it and started giving me less half way through. I started realizing things. I started thinking about writing this WHILE it was happening, this is also nothing new but still.

Waking up wasnt a good thing. I started trying to get it back by breathing more. It wasnt enough my body was rejecting it, my mind wasnt. I started flipping out. My mind started going along, 1 part wanted it 1 part wanted to wake up and beat the dentist with teh light.

The dentist stopped for a while after 3 fillings. 1 left to go. Time was becoming shorrt. I started to breathe more, yet my hands started coming undone, i flipped em around a bit, started bending my fingers backwards felling no pain. I started moving my legs around. I started thinking more of what I was going to do and how i was going to write this. It was crazy. My mind was thinking of blasting my hands and legs in all directions,jumping up and running out the door to the car.

Then he put in the last, the Euphoria was gone. only a little reminaed. I was fully aware of everything but couldnt help form smiling. when i got out i texted a shorter version of this to my friends. and called up another.

so my question here is... Novacane, harmless drug that makes you numb? Or deadly drug as bad as crack or another?

(of course you dont need to get too technical going into detail of shit about how its just a anasteshia. or whateverr and its nothing like crack, but im addicted man.and its good. So its not like crack or anything but is it really good for you?)

If dentists were drug peddlers I might respect them more, as I hate dentists currently.

Well, it's a drug.  They're all harmful when abused.  But as bad as crack?  Nope.

Novocaine is pretty harmless though, it has very little addiction potential, is almost impossible to overdose on, you can't really get a hold of it from anywhere but from professional treatment, and as far as I'm aware it doesn't have any long-term adverse effects. On the ten-point scale of drug craziness, Novocaine is probably a 1 or 2

Bleah, lazy quack just used too much instead of spacing out doses. That, and you've probably never had so much as a sugar high. Novacaine isn't close to, say, morphine.

Novocaine CANT make you high. It's a local anesthethic. The gas is nitrous oxide. That CAN make you high. It's pretty harmless, AFAIK, no physiological addiction.  I recall that (aside from asphyxiating on it), there was some risk of B12 vitamin deficiency when taking it, assuming you werent in too good standing with that beforehand, but yeah, otherwise pretty harmless.

The only legitimate hatred of dentists, excluding corrupt ones, is that they often give you a tough time about brushing and it gets VERY annoying.
