no problem, its just for fun.

Shoy here is no master leafworker, but gave it a try, anyways.
(Whoops, that hand is a mess. Fix ->)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I like the patterns of light and shadow you added, looks really nice on the cloth, and the sun rays are cool. Could use a bit of tidying up but I'll wait to see if anyone else wants to mess with it before I take it again.

I personally suggest darkening the background leaves slightly, unless camouflage is the effect you were going for.

I'd try to do it myself, tbh, but GIMP crashes when I select the lightness/darkness editor.

If the purpose of this thread is to take crappy art and turn it into masterful art, then, gentlemen, I've got some crappy art for you. Interpret as you wish, I'd like to see how it turns out.

All I'm telling is that, yes, I didn't really invent that design.

But, judging by the druid, I hope somebody improves on my design just the same awesome way.

I hope some other artists will participate. I don't want to steal all the glory, I'm just here to bring necks to those in need.

Agreed, should darken the canopy so the elf pops out more.

There was a google project in '07 doing almost the same thing. It was not advertised. I am suspicious about "some chinese students". Also they have no real demo yet so we can't be sure it's not fake.

It's fake; image recognition technology isn't good enough for that kind of stunt yet, unless you're NSA, in which case it might be.

I am not familiar with that. I know about a project that lets you to select area of photo you do not like and replaced it with content it has found on flickr.

Also this was presented on Siggraph and there is even a paper published, so I am almost sure it is not a fake.

OK - that is enough offtopic from me.

@Japa: You have really nice reflections there, but I am not sure, what I am looking at.

Darkened, and added a barely-visible border. I'm no master photo doctor, but I daresay it's improved.
