I have a raptor self-defense plan. It has two steps: 1. Pick up gun 2. Shoot raptors.

Shoggoths stopped being subservient millions of years ago.  You can't have a pet shoggoth.

And Delta Green is lame.  Having a super-secret Mythos Task Force takes all of the mystique out of it.  No one can do Lovecraft like Lovecraft, everyone else just ruins it.

Armok, you never cease to amaze...  I have no problem with celibacy as a personal choice, or even as a joking excuse for not getting laid, but trying to claim that it "helps your scientific capabilities" just floored me.  And it's hilarious down here.

I'm sorry, I promise to read the rest of the thread soon, but damn did that comment make me laugh. Seriously, the coffee almost went all over my computer. Thank you Kagus, thank you.

Does this mean we are gonna go back to bothering Armok again? That was fun.

Antagonizing people about personal beliefs they hold because they are different from our own? GREAT IDEA!

Okay, just read the topic. What the hell? I was expecting this to be either a conversation on the moralities of sex or Armok getting angry.

I used a time machine.

Delta Green is an organization caught in the middle of a hopeless war, with the government, particularly majestic-12 who are the actual government task force, who don't know a thing about the mythos, particularly regarding the Mi-Go, thinking that the greys that they work with are real, and not just puppets. On the other side, they have all the forces of the mythos working against them. They have limited numbers (only 72 are ever active at one time, for secrecy and logistical reasons), they lie to their allies and they are liable to be screwed in any given situation, and they all eventually go insane.

Shush, we're not supposed to talk about sex. That's why everyone is on topic (that other topic about getting old).

I really LIKED this topic though, and we were handling it mature enough, I think.

Onto an old topic: You can't "kick the morality out of sex." People have hardwired, intense feelings about it, which tap quite naturally into morals. You can't stop people from thinking certain sex acts in certain contexts are right and wrong, anymore than you can do away with sexual jealousy or sexual attraction, for that matter.

Yeah, the book Brave New World probably isn't possible for that reason.
