I'm sorry, Archangel, I have 8 players currently, and I'd rather not start bending my own rules. But you are on the waiting list.
Currently on the boat: Nathan, James, Pyro, Gary.
Now that the bartender is weakened, I'll calmly get onto the boat.
You calmly climb up.
I do a flying leap onto the boat in order to talk to the crew, who seem to be the source of all the trouble.
Difficulty:15
Clichés: Special Forces, Theatrics.
5d6 = 15 [5d6:1,2,4,6,2]
You barely reach the boat, and hang on the railing for a moment, when suddenly
I watch for all our men, helping any struggling to get on with a well thrown rope, should that be the case.
a helping hand pulls you aboard.
I don't really have much that I can do.
You do nothing, and you do it with style.
I resignedly realize I'm going to have to join these madmen, board the ship, and begin to calculate a heading and a way to make it lift.
Sail into the skies while singing a pirate tune.
I help sail ye boat.
Difficulty: 45 (boat is wanting to take off, but sailing the skies is not given to everyone...)
Clichés: Armok (Maths, 5); Gruffy (Swashbuckler, 4); Nuke (Fire Mage, 4)
For anyone who is wondering how fire mage applies to air sailing: think turbojet + afterburn.
13d6 = 56 [13d6:5,6,3,3,3,5,5,5,5,1,6,6,3]
56. The average is 13 * 3.5 = 45.5. For 13 dice, going 10 above the average is a lot. Epic stuff happens.
The space-time continuum wraps around the boat as Sanger starts singing Mystic Arcane Formulae Including Derivatives, and while the fabric of reality is torn to pieces, the sails stay strong as Gary swings from rope to rope, including saltos and corckscrews inbetween. An
ancient pirate melody starts playing, and defying all laws of nature, the boat starts rocking front and back in time and space, a few meters above the broken table. But then a giant jet of flames comes from the back of the boat, time and space stabilize, and the sloop shoots trough the roof into the skies. Mere seconds after that, the time of the inn winds back, and for a moment you see the inn from all sides at once, including the inside, and everything there goes back to the very start of this adventure.
Luckily, you guys are safe from the vicious circle of time, sailing trough clouds and thunderstorms, swinging from rope to rope, and feeling good.
"Wait... We forgot someone."
