That's a fair question.  I do think that I can draw some information from your answer, although maybe not what you expect.  Rather than seeing how scummy you act, I can get a bit of a feel for your play style.  (As long as you answer truthfully).  Then, later, I can put this with other information to get a better picture.

Odds are slim that a person would have multiple people trying to kill them, so Heroic Guard is out. Vengeful would be of more use then Observant because with an Observent you have to spend a lynch on the possible scum (you wouldn't know the role, right?) while the Vengeful Guard takes care of it during the night. So, Vengeful Guard.

Interesting choice.  I see where you're coming from, although I'd personally go with Observant Bodyguard myself.  It would give the perpetrator a chance to defend himself (if an alien for example) and potentially help the town.  And there are vig. like roles to help with removing threats.  But to each his own.
