I think it has something to do with cull unimportant events/figures.

This is how tentacle demons are spawned.

Ask him if Wuspin Icydelight had corrupt intentions.

Hahaha, thats just plain weird. I gotta talk to people more often in adventurer mode.

I suggest dismembering the guy to see if he has any tentacle demon blood left in him!

The other creature is now dead, and wasn't considered important, so got culled from the logs to save on memory or somesuch.

It's still pretty hilarious that it's an "unknown creature", though I understand that that's how the game refers to everything.

So if the person married an unknown creature, it married a wolf or another animal?

No, marriages are always between the same species.  (for now)

The person married another member of his species that wasn't important enough to be kept in the history books.  (effectively)

The person married a peasant probably, which would be strange if the person was rich and the peasants a hobo

This is why you never cull anything from anywhere.

I once had a story of a woman who moved back and forth between hovels for 90 years before getting a nice house. She died the same year.

so a cyclops who stole a rope reed sock 200 years ago is more important than his family history?huh

Have you seen what a Cyclops armed with a rope reed sock can do? Those things are practically weapons of mass destruction.
