Well, Aranea's alternate self was a badass pirate. And Kankri's alternate self was a posthumously deified leader of an uprising big enough for alt-Meenah to banish all adult trolls from their home planet forever to keep it from happening again. And Meenah's OTHER alternate self is so gay and bubbly that it's almost painful to watch and wants to nurture and care for all the little animals of the ocean. That's why they call them ALTERNATE selves.

Nitpick: It wasn't the Sufferer's rebellion that caused the Condescension to banish adult trolls from Alternia. It was the Summoner's.

Speaking of pyropes, when Terezi was all sad I felt bad for her and then when Meenah said she had a date with Karkat I almost shed a manly tear.

Poor Terezi is stuck between Dave and Karkat and then it starts to look like Karkat's going with another girl and on top of all that she's incapable of seeing her anscestor as something that can be lived up to and shes sad and bawwwwwwwww.

Well Aranea did say his condition is the result of a noble sacrifice that saved them from doom, it sounds like he was pretty cool before.  She mentions that Kurloz was the only witness.  I'm hoping this means Mituna may get restored when the others uncover Kurloz's evil plans grim machinations.

I retract my previous statement to now include Latula, Meenah, Kurloz, and Aranea. So that's 3 and 1 out of 8 for the ancestor minigames, but there's still Aradia, Tavros, Kanaya, and Equius ancestors to formally be introduced to. At least one of them must not be completely terrible.

A few additional thoughts on the walkaround, which like everything with me, came to me hours after I wanted it.

1. Seriously, Hussie? The poor communication leading to a love triangle thing? Are we actually going to do that, cause that is a pretty played out thing. He's probably going to pull some twist on it, but right now the little Karkat, Terezi, Meenah love triangle seems kinda generic because of that.

2. I'm worried about Terezi. Something is up. Nobody just conviently hides their face in fiction, there is always a reason, and now I'm worried it's something horrible. Like, say, her eyes are flashing purple, or something that is really bad news like that.

Yeesh, yeah, that would be bad news. Whatever's up with the hood, I doubt that it's any good. The only benign idea of can think of our have seen is that she took up Aranea's offer to regain her sight and is worried the others would think less of her for not soldiering on and coping with her blindness. But why have her turn down Aranea's offer on screen, only to change her mind latter? It's possible, but doesn't seem likely to me, so I'm worried.

In other news, this fandom has once again proven their speed. We've already have Kurloz cosplay!

Not at all. I only have the vaguest idea of what he's saying, and I'm good at deciphering quirks. His is an absolute mess.
