I think it'll be a new necklace or something in the store.

Man maybe the alpha kids weren't meant to play at all, and the real kids were just going to take their place.

That would actually be great and a lot better than having the alpha kids at all. Top notch idea, would read again

Yeah, that would make sense. The alpha session was supposed to be better prepared, and seeing as how the original kids already played through a good portion of Sburb and are now god tier, they would breeze through The Medium and the lands as if they weren't no thing.

Doesn't rampant sequence breaking totally disrupt the game's natural flow though, and cause disastrous things to happen?

Cannot remember.

Hmm, reading back over the early chapters.
You know what I miss? Homestuck used to feel like a text based adventure game being narrated to you. Now, not so much... It is sort of just a story now. A very entertaining story no doubt, but it doesn't have that same feel.

This is one of the reasons I trawled the MSPA forums for a while, looking for something with writing that was close to the same quality, but with the old familiar text-adventure feel. Pretty happy with Prequel -or- Making a Cat Cry: The Adventure. Being a fan of the Elder Scrolls series helps, but the story stands well enough on its own.

I have a theory guys, about scratched sessions

What if all sessions are supposed to be scratched the first time around? The race is always too 'weak' and they can't finish. Something always goes wrong. Maybe...just maybe...the whole game is rigged from the start.

Think about this. The whole reason things get so fucked over is because of Gamzee, right? How he does that weird dream thing and magically puts that doll into John's room. Actually, let's go back a bit and think about why he did that. Dave gave him that video, of course! Where'd he get that video from? BETTY CROCKER. BETTY CROCKER is rigging all the games straight from the beginning and causing the first session to fail. Why? Because when a session gets scratched, it needs to make the players stronger. How does it do that? Apparently by making BETTY CROCKER the ruler of that world the session takes place on! Think about it. Alternia's session was scratched. BETTY CROCKER was the troll empress. Once Earth scratched, who basically became the ruler of earth? BETTY CROCKER!!!!!1

SBURB is just a way for BETTY CROCKER to take over everything!! It's a giant powerhungry scheme!!!!!!!

Scratching is a glitch, aka unintended.

Ohhhh. I get it now. Her Imperious Condescension deposed the Black Queen, and now she's cheating because she's not a game construct and thus not bound by its rules.

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.

At least Her Imperious Condescension can't benefit from the inevitable prototypings.
