Maybe being the Maid of life makes her somewhat more resilient to death than your average protagonist?

Hmm, reading back over the early chapters.
You know what I miss? Homestuck used to feel like a text based adventure game being narrated to you. Now, not so much... It is sort of just a story now. A very entertaining story no doubt, but it doesn't have that same feel.

I do wonder why he would have started by killing the Prospit kids, when the Derse ones are right there.  Or why the Derse kids aren't immediately killed in every game for that matter.

I remember a formspring question where Hussie talked about how the Queens and Kings have rules that they play by, and not offing the kids in their towers is apparently one of them.

But the kids in the Prospit towers, well, they're fair game for Dersian agents.

Also, Jane's real self is alive, else she'd have asplosion wounds on her dreamself. Assuming Hussie is being consistent with the dreamself mechanics, as previously outlined.
Rose and Dave didn't have any wounds when they only had their dreamselves, nor did Sollux, for that matter. I think the wounds only pass on when you're lying on your quest bed.

No, there's just a delay between real wounds -> dreamself wounds.

Also, kiss of life can be done a) by anybody, and b) if you still have another self. Jane currently has none. No snogging for her.

Headcanon: Jane was never meant to play Sburb. Poppa Crocker will come back from the dead and play for her, and she will serve as the sprite. Because John is meant to always be the hero. He is simply the best there is.

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.

You guys act as if this never happened before, while it was clear that SOMEONE or SOMETHING killed Aradia's dreamself, leading to it being moved to the crypt it lay in.

And yeah, I think the reason her dreamself wasn't already dead, possibly, is that the wound hadn't transferred over yet (not enough time had passed).

Which brings up an interesting question: Is this what causes ghosts? Having your dreamself die before your real-self death can transfer over to it, creating some sort of bug in the alive/dead status?

Na, it just happens to maids.
Because if there is one thing Hussie can't resist, it is ghost maids.

No, not Poppa. Dad. We're gonna see Dad become a proper main character.
I'M PRETTY SURE THIS IS WHAT HUSSIE IS GONNA DO YOU GUYS!

Huh my first thought was jane must have survived the attempt on her life but gone into a coma and went back to prospit as her dreamself because of it.
Seemed plausible to me anyway, what with her not remembering anything that happened after.
Or maybe I just don't want to think she may have died (twice now)   :(

But then I've never really payed a lot of attention to the game rules and how this whole self and dream self and how they interact work. All a bit to meta for me hehe.

See now this really confuses me because a while back there was a whole discussion of why the kid's dreamselves weren't simply murdered in their sleep (although that may have been on a different forum).

I guess this is Alpha Jack Noir's version of going rogue?  Note that he seems to be interested in killing the Derse dreamselves as well ("two down, two to go").

So, what do you suppose the "lil somethin' else" Hussie's planning is?  Walkabout flash with playable Jack Noir?
