I never noticed a similarity in the music actually.  It seems when Duke linked that music Darvi must have already heard (he's played the games he's stated) he instantly agree'd then.  Which doesn't make sense but ah-

I see what you mean but anime is a style of animation, cartoons are a different style. Powerpuff girls is a cartoon. Though there is a power puff girl anime.

Deviled has it pretty spot on. There are stylistic differences abound. Calling power puff girls an anime is like calling my little pony (Or what little I've found the time to love) an anime. It just isn't.

Under no definition of "definition" is that a definition to which I subscribe. "Anime" is just Japanese for "animation". It is often used to mean "animation produced in Japan" or "animation in style of animation produced in Japan", but there is nothing wrong about using it as a blanket term for the whole medium.
