I just realized why Jade acted so angry with the password thing in the future. Kanaya was dead so seeing her show up to chat might have really raised her hopes, only for them to be crushed by the fact that it was past Kanaya.

Somehow Eridan is managing to crush hope unintentionally.

Unintentionally?  Who said anything about unintentional?  Ahem, as the prince of hope im uniquely qualified to recognize wwhen all hope is lost  He already proved his acceptance of grinding with the angels.  Eridan is just a very thorough guy.

As to the ironic hopefulness of course, Aradia wouldn't shut up about doomed timelines.  Maybe this is inadvertently her doing, or will be.  In the future.  Past.  Who knows, just rest assured that paradoxes will be involved.

And I have to say that Karkat is starting to disappoint me a little.  For all his bluster, he seems a little easy to shock.  Sure, all his episodes have involved the violent maiming of his friends, but he boasted such outcomes himself.

Alternate Future everyone has already died, and an Alternate Future Rose died and was, like, moved to Rose's dreamself. Explains why the dreamself is dying.

 Nonono, Dave was too much time traveling as it was. I just abandoned that square and moved along. I am not gonna go into Roses dreamself cross-universe resurrection stuff. Lets just say this is about current mortality standings, who is dead and alive now.

 He didn't give an official word on the matter, simply rambling about shocking twists in stories and how you need to be emotionally attached for this kind of shock to work. He is in a good position to go either way here.
