How do you rock at Mario Kart? I was under the impression that the game was explicitly designed so it's impossible to be good at it.

There are time trial modes. Also, only the latest Mario Kart is exceptionally catered to be impossible to have any sort of real advantage (primarily due to the massive number of racers). The previous ones in the series all required some degree of skill.

Why yes.  It goes on the, "fast as the slowest person" policy.

Wow, there are a lot of people with twins here. Myself, Naxzu, and Luke_Prowler! And my brother is a sore loser too, because he sucks at most games.

You can be fairly good at Mario Kart, but it's designed so the winner gets a disadvantage in items (and, of course, blue shells sniping at you) to keep the game competitive even towards the end.

Stay in second place until the end and then zoom by.  You are going to have to try to cheat the system while you play.
