Vanilla just gets a little... boring after a while. Makes me feel like there's really just no point.

Same, I feel notch has not taken hints from players building advanced redstone computers in his game.
And RPG elements just disappoint me. ( If levels are lost upon death I am cooler with it.)

I also kinda hope someone compiles a common place multiplayer modpack, because it can get tedious gathering mods for individual servers.

I'll play on vanilla once they catch up on all the stuff they were suppose to do and stop releasing broken pre-releases. And then heavily mod that too.

You do realize that the entire point of public beta testing is to have the public find bugs for you, right?

And considering how often Notch adds new features, the game might never get a final release version (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, considering what this forum is all about).

ECrownofFire, you want crazy contraptions? How about a fully working paint program? Aside from some inventory hacking, this is pure vanilla.

They already are, and are spent in enchanting.

 Vanilla works out alright in multiplayer. Set it to a creative server and your mods can go screw themselves I'm having a blast with legos.

Na, I like my mods; and that took me a while to do.
I understand the appeal of internet legos, but having to go though hell and back to make my lighthouse makes it mean more as I pass it on the way to my farm.

Also I came off a little bitter.
Notch knows how to make a good game, Minecraft cavern exploring has unique flow to it, and he has made a very fun and approachable game, that I can have alot of fun with, and more importantly then anything else.
It is a game that genuinely appeals to a wide audience of players.

 Eh, I never get that as I fly by my golden cocks to the 500 chunk cathedral.

 I enjoy both modes, but a lot of the reasoning and complaints from the survival side are a bit silly to me.

Why do you need mods for a lighthouse? I can see one being made with pistons and lava, or just the lava if you want the light to shine in all directions.

Dude, I have yet to try a single mod, and only last week started playing SMP, but damn.
Though I've never fooled around with minecarts. I never seem to have enough iron <_<

Well, It is a sandbox game, it is not like there is a "correct" way to play it.

I'm by no means saying his way is wrong or even less right. I guess I just can't stand that itch of something in the game I haven't at least partially experienced yet.

I think I made like 5 sets minecart tracks when they first came out.

I never really find enough iron to warrant making a track for whatever reason.
