Oh man, I hate acronyms..

I was browsing around some boards and kept seeing "MW" and "AC" tossed around.

I was pretty happy being a bit of a mecha fan, thinking, "Whoa, suddenly everyone is talking about Mech Warrior and Armored Core!"

Only to have my dreams crushed when I realized they meant Modern Warfare and Assassin's Creed..

People move on because it doesn't effect them, but if they keep making the Elder Scrolls series, it could have long term effects.

That might be true, but you can't actually prove it definitively, which is what Bethesda has to do. They're trying to make the case that they will lose a significant amount of sales because a significant amount of customers will get the names mixed up. That's just not feasible. They know they can't actually win the case, which is why they're trying to scare Mojang into giving them money before it goes to court. That plan is backfiring because Mojang isn't scared and knows they can win in court.

Besides that, there is the brick wall of legal precedent (the Edge case), which Bethesda cannot possibly smash through with this weak of a claim.

That's what I'm guessing will happen, but with this they can leave a paper trail so they can say "We defended this trademark" for future references. Legal stuff is annoying.

I love puns. Ask anyone who knows me, puns are my favourite kind of joke, particularly ones that make people groan. You though, you've reached pun nirvana. No pun will ever be as funny as your pun. I both applaude you and shed a tear, for now puns are ruined for me. I'll still enjoy them, but they'll all be shadowed by this.
