1, I posted that one a while back, and 2, it's not bonzai cats, it's a wolf made into a block, through the magicks of a vacuum block.

Just get the "Now that's what I call Minecraft" modpack. Note that the website has some inappropriate language, if you're for some reason playing Minecraft at work, but other than that it should be fine.

So, Notch is upgrading the lighting system;

Remember how many chunk updates there are when the sun sets or rises in Minecraft? In 1.7 there are zero.

I put lighting data in a second texture, u is skylight, v is blocklight. To fade skylight, I just dynamically change the texture data.

Also, this means that skylight and blocklight can have different colors now. Nights are brighter, but tinted blue now. Blocklights are warm.

Meanwhile, new lighting is, indeed sexy.
Though, I think it may be easier because of that whole sunrise/sunset chunk updating bullshit.

...really? No jumppad effect? That was half the fun of the pistons mod. 

I am now officially waiting until the modders fix the official implementation of a former mod.

Resources > Config > mod_PinkSlime.cfg (just open in notepad) > rarity to 0 (explained in the file).

The installer actually asks you which individual mods to install so it should be easy to get it without

If I understood the implementation correctly from the way he described it, Notch pretty much added another set of variables, which at the least memory usage increase.
