I know that they can be combined to make iron, and I have more than enough. but I refuse to use that, because it feels cheatish. I want to try to do it the hard way... which means linking some autominers to the power net and let them do all the work.

so, in your sideways F, the intersection between the vertical cables and the horizontal one are MFE?

this is the first time I work with power nets, so I am rather ignorant.

edit: I may still find enough iron to pay at least for part of it though. the area to dig is rather large.

also, thanks for the power net help. It will probably save a lot of time, avoiding lots of errors.

Well, the extended MFEs in my world seem to hold their extensions upon leaving and entering now. As of.... Industrialcraft 5.05, I think? I'm still on Minecraft 1.4. I only added one crystal, but it seems to be fine at 100000.

Make sure you only leave the game while near those extra capacity MFEs.  The bug is only partially fixed.  If extra capacity MFE is in an unloaded chunk when you load the map they still lose all voltage above the default max.  Ones in loaded chunks work fine though.

It's pretty sweet. It cuts trees batshit easy, AND it cuts through slimes like a hot knife through butter.

I needed a use for the 8 stacks of torches I have. Also, when turned off, the blocks just vanish.

I wanted to recommend the Recipe Book mod from the modloader guy (Risugami). A book and an ink sack give you a automated recipe book that should have all the vanilla recipes along with any recipes added by mods (e.g. IndustrialCraft) you've loaded with modloader! You have to left and right click through a list of recipes but each individual book remembers its place even after saving and loading again. Left clicking for awhile takes you to the published and unpublished IndustrialCraft recipes. I think it is a very handy reference that is available in game. It is up to 1.4_01.
