My point with my post was that the only reason there is any crap given is that you get to play the game while it's in development. And this is the reason people are acting like idiots over the game. Notch himself doesn't care that much about idiots complaining about their self-entitled crap, but every Friday some retard suddenly demands an update like they deserve it for pre-paying for the complete product. And how all that idiocy would be gone if Notch just didn't let us play the development version.

Well they have a right to complain, though the reason why the game was so cheap in the first place was because it was so early in development, and the reason Notch doesn't complain himself is because he himself isn't an idiot and he knows that his method of development isn't standard and will put undue stress on many people who paid for the alpha version of the game.

I wouldn't call those people who complain idiots. By all means they are having a reasonable reaction of an unusual situation.

As for myself... I am sort of waiting for Minecraft to get more user friendly (which will likely be never) before I try again. I could learn how to use it but I'd rather have everything laid out infront of me rather then requiring to play with a Wiki open. Even Dwarf Fortress isn't as bad (you need it for a start up but not to play to its fullest)

A right to complain? Really? What about pre-ordering the game gives ANYONE the right to complain about it's development not going at the pace they would like?

I don't know... what gives anyone the right to complain about anything?

They bought it, in otherwords they are entitled to an oppinion and the right to express it. Also in what way is pace NOT a rightful area of discussion? Quality is but how long it will take to get to that quality isn't?

Everyone has the right to complain, but constantly complaining about Notch's development schedual will gain you no favor, not from me at least.

Yeah.

One thing I often forget is that really nothing is beyond complaining (since I cannot spell that other word). As long as people are civil about their complaints and don't flood the place it is alright.

The problem is that you get one of two things

1) Overly Complaining: Flooding threads with complaints
or
2) Complaint Backlash: Flooding topics about how people can't complain because they don't agree

The reason why I think complaining is important is because honestly... as bad as the people who complain about something are... The people who outright non-stop praise things are WORSE! as I've always said

A 0/10 review is almost always better then a 10/10

I'd just like to point out that not all countries are capitalist. I don't remember how the elections went but Sweden's pretty socialist when it comes to policies.

How is a good review worse than a bad one? This makes no sense to me (especially when it comes to marketing) and a well formulated review will beat a badly written one hands down whether the verdict was good or bad.

10/10s just tend to be the reviewer emoting. It never explains why the game is good, it just assumes it is obvious.

0/10s while still bad tend to at LEAST give reasons why the game is bad.

10/10 reviews tend to be fairly biased as well, if not outright bought.

Constructive positive reviews are usually 9/10 or 8/10

0/10 sounds like a mindless rant though, worse than a 10/10

Can we stop arguing about the worthiness of the game and resume discussion of recent events in out Minecraft spelunkerings? And by the way, when I asked if secret Friday updates have started again I wasn't complaining or anything, I was just wondering.

I apologize. The only form I ever see this question in is "Why aren't there Secret Friday Updates anymore? Notch is really slipping. I paid money and I deserve updates! The playerbase should take over the project, Notch already got a lot of money off of this. Too much if you ask me." So there is a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to them now.
