actually... unless you can actually make sense of runecraft and get to the more popular areas, it's really pretty boring.

"hasty judgments"

That's exactly what I'm amused about.

An hour spent attempting to enjoy a map is hasty? Huh. I'm baffled.

Runecraft with no wiki page was difficult, but it's back up now.

I could easily argue that wandering around solo on the average alpha server is going to be the same. At least this map has different biomes and a lot of secrets all over the place for the lone adventurers.

1. It's not always about you. Just watching the console I've seen at least three other people complain about all the islands being small and leaving; two within the first five minutes or less.
2. I don't really know what you personally were doing as I never followed you around. Either you don't like exploring, or you just didn't want to travel all the way over to a biome you liked. Those are fine excuses this early in the map when not a lot of teleporters have been placed (that's just the way it is on a map this large). The people that think that the map is all dinky little islands and quit is what I'm amused by.

Wow.
In addition to my motherlode of gold, In looting the majority of the dungeons, I have acquired around 7 sets of full diamond armour.

And I have dug up around 60 some diamonds.
Psh. I laugh at your paltry sums of wealth. I built a 300-block (probably an understatement by a few full cobblestone stacks) bridge from the wastelands to the ? on the map. After half an hour of digging, I have around 40 diamond blocks. Not 40 diamonds, 40 diamond blocks. The caves of that place are littered with solid blocks of iron, gold, and diamond.

How CAN you tyhink that those islands are small? Even the ones near spawn are large enough for there to be at least 50 iron in each.

My only main gripe about this map is that there seems to be a profound lack of redstone, which is tedious, since a lot of the runes in Runecraft requires redstone to function.

If Lap could hack up some redstone for everybody to have, I'd be happy.

I'd like to see a map that includes big veins of minerals that strech over very large areas but are otherwise rather thin, making minecarts useful.

But what I really want is customizable map scripts, so I can say that, for instance, make a map with floating islands, and decrease average size by a ratio of the distance from the origin, making a circular cloud of islands with a huge, nearly-normal land mass in the center.

Turns out it looks like the DF->Mincraft converter is working. I say we start with a large, complex fort in a neat area and import that.

I was planning on heading there today, but it seems you beat me to it.

Done already. Takes up some 2-3gb of ram. Not all that great, both for the server and players.

I miss having sound. ; _;

Minecraft just isn't the same like this..

Minecraft has sound?

And yeah, Minecraft.com is probably sobbing in a corner right now.
