I was just returning today to the age-old wish for some way of changing your spawn-point in Alpha mode.  A structure of some kind would be just the ticket; or barring that, a constructable teleporter system, so at least you have to reach the destination the hard way the first time.

You mean, sort of like /sethome and /home that's already in there?

I think he means in Single-player. Which it is still doable, but there is no in-game support for it.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

Oh right, it's a server feature. I hadn't tried it in single player so I thought it was universal.

Set up a teleport destination to the far south Beach place. Geography fail lol

Adress
w=raw wood
d= dirt

Code: [Select]
#w#
#####
d# #d
#####
 #w#

I think it's in the vicinity of the floating lake, but don't quote me on that

After screwing around with destructive spells and causing some chaos I built a time control mechanism on the top of the pyramid.

*Sets time from noon to midnight*

Players-!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!! *running into stuff and almost falling off cliffs*

*Back to sunrise five seconds later*

Players- what just happened?

Too bad the monsters don't do anything, the extra spawning would be even more amusing.

So people have been doing some crazy exploring and finding all sorts of goodies. Massive death mazes with prizes and stuff. However, Rogunz hit the motherload.

I was like "That's probably going to be like 60 blocks of gold!"

Turns out I was very wrong. Rogunz quickly noticed that the gold went deep. I looked away and before I knew it I was looking for Rogunz.

Rogunz?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
and it kept going like that for another screen or so. That was one side and we can now estimate well over 1000 gold. Rogunz is one blinging rich bitch so I expect him to be using gold tools to build his giant golden house.

I started to run out of torches so I walked down the cave a little bit further...

and then we found another one that was pretty much the same. That has to be thousands of coal. So now I have to amend my expectations of Rogunz to him never walking anywhere, but taking a solid gold powered minecart everywhere.

Good luck to everyone who will now try to crack Rogunz teleport combination!

Gold! Coal!

I know gold is absolute junk right now, but if either of you doesn't fully bling yourself out in gold armor, gold tools, gold buildings, you're doing something wrong.

As an aside, I tried to connect to that server. I seem to have logged in fine, but the scenery didn't load and I was being injured by something.

And now we shall start expeditions to the mythical lodes of Iron and Diamond. They must exist!

You spawn in midair, way below everything. The damage was from falling off the bottom of the world. Just type /home to fix it.

Yea I need to find where newbies first spawn and put a floor and sign there so they know to use /home. It's odd because a lot of people have started in the right place. I think a number of people are spawning in not letting the world load and walking straight off the starting island.

Anyways, here's some of the creations I've been seeing.

Rogunz extremely opulent WP. Even if you figure out the combo, you'd need to sacrifice at least a gold block just to teleport there.

Apparently I was accused of theft and got kicked. All because I found the seekrit location pictured above? Oh well.

That or my connection keeps dying. I don't believe that.

Actually, the server crashed. I've kicked no one.

Until the forums are back up I don't have any programs to easily and automatically restart the process if it crashes. Anyone got something?

Nah, if you get to my motherlode legitimately I'm fine with it. Of course, once players can be harmed, I'll kill you to keep it safe.
