I made the mistake of checking the comments left on the latest update. Ugh.

I hope we get a day/night cycle before Notch runs off again. It would hinder building, sure, but the cycle is part of Minecraft's atmosphere, something that's missing from SMP right now.

Very true. And hopefully it won't be as hard as the inventory and stuff, but there is still the issue of server-client synching. Then again, that's always problem.

Server 1.3 is released, breaks Llamacraft and hey0's stuff without fixing the things that they fix, because Notch "hates them".

Oh, wait.  Too late.

It was so he could obfuscate his code more. AKA make it so Llama's mod doesn't work and we're completely dependent on him to get crucial features working (buckets, furnaces). Needless to say I won't update my server until Llamacraft updates or we get server-side inventory.

I can see it now, my magma moat catches the wooden  torch posts near my mine on fire, that fire spreads to the local forest, becoming akin to a DF fire spreading in all directions.  The wooden house and wooden tower near my mine cease to exist first, then it spreads westward turning the thicket into a horrible conflagration visible FROM SPACE.  Then it destroys the structures in town and the mainland becomes just a treeless charred wasteland.

And I will be selling the only trees available for a premium from my small offshore treefarm.  Sounds like boatmurdered...and lucrative.

Seems an open-source clone of Minecraft has been making some news. Besides the obvious similarities... apparently, this clone can connect to Minecraft servers.
