Dream Seeker is out of date, get at byond. Can't find it there, though.

I'm trying to decide if I do want to scrap doing animations for the new directional mob because it would mean drawing 200+ hand item states for 11 items, and we have easily more than that.
I estimate about 1000 will have to be done, and that's if we only have like 25 items or so.

Quite simply, you could just change the sprite for sideways.
Front and back could be the same, or relatively the same, with minor changes.
Sides would be the only ones needed, so that cuts it in half, does it not?

except it requires animation edits too because the hands move with the thing, and it would not be the same for each side because if you have it in your right and and turn left it will not show up as much as if you were turning right.
It's all really pissing me off.

Ahh, Now I see.

We're going to need more than one spriter (or two) if we're going to get THAT done very quickly.

One way to fix this would be to make generic sprites for certain objects that are trivial.
Controversial or important items should have unique sprites. This may cut down the number.

BYOND has both overlays and underlays, and layering of them. With work, it would be possible to draw the whole then and put it behind the player. Then, bulky clothes will obstruct it even more and stuff.

Not to nitpick, but is this something we need? I've seen it on the goon servers, and well it looks REALLY freaky. At least with the Always facing the Camera sprites we have, it has the feel of an old NES game, but the side to side sprites are just creepy with the lack of walking animation.

The goon servers directional sprites scare the shit out of me.

Yea, I gota agree with directionals. They kinda...... take away the SS13 feel and generaly anoy me looking at them. Also, doing that many sprites would require at least half a dozen spriters and that would still take.... hmmm, 2 months or so?
