It's not gameplay footage, so I can't give an opinion, although I personally think it's too colorful.  When I go outside, I see mostly dark green, gray, and brown, not counting the sky.  That city looked like the colour out of space ate too many pureed clowns and threw up everywhere.

That city looked like the colour out of space

So you lost your mind after watching it?

It's what I call "Gameplay"

It shows the gameplay, but it makes it a bit better looking.

Judging from Valve's cinematic style, it's a "gameplay" trailer.

I'm using the L4D into as a benchmark. If you examine it carefully, you'll see it's about 90% gameplay. Only spiced up a bit.

If it's all done with the game engine, then those are some spectacular wound effects.

That, I can't comment about.

But I'm willing to bet at least 80% of that is in engine.

I wouldn't call the original trailer a gameplay trailer, any more than the Doom movie was a Doom gameplay trailer.  (Haven't seen it, but still.)  I mean it was awesome, and when you play a while then go back and watch it again you're like "oh god that's just what the game is like", but...

On the other hand, if it's a trend, then we can trust it as an indication of what the game is like.  Which is cool.

Alright I never even liked the current characters how could the new ones be any worse?

Did they get another woman who looks even MORE out of place then the current one?

I liked that trailer. Had a very...zombie movieish feel to it.

Also, I finally got a chance to play Left 4 Dead at E3 while checking out the Alienware booth. It was fun, even if I had no idea what most of the key-bindings were. I really should pick it up at some point...

That's because there are barely any key bindings at all.  1-5 are weapons medpack grenades.  You've got your standard F flashlight R reload.  C to turn on your microphone.  And that's...it.

I couldn't figure out how to crouch or to activate a lift that we had to get on to. Someone else took care of the lift and I figure crouching wasn't really critical. It was fun, certainly, even if we did get slaughtered eventually.

e and ctrl are use and crouch respectively, space is jump don't think there is anything else. Also the lift panic event is one of my favourites mainly because of

Ah, true, crouch and jump are ctrl and space but those are normal enough I forgot about them.  :)

Can't you also activate things by pointing at them and clicking?  You CAN pick stuff up with E, but you can also just look at it and click, too.
