Question: How many frames are a single dwarf fortress day?
Praise dwarven ingenuity in engineering a Mechanical calendar for your answer:
A DF day is exactly 1200 steps
I have been told that there are 1200 steps (frames) in a day.
And
Quote from: Toady in a  DFTalk
dwarf mode goes seventy two times faster in adventure mode through history

cobaltkobold:

I did not know that last one! thank you for the reference there. I was trying to figure out how the nano-technology locks would function in Adventure Mode.
Now I know: not well.

Toady typically doesn't do things by half measures.  As evidenced by turning "make hauling work better" into "implement mine carts with physics".
There are many issues with this statement.

I wonder if it's possible to set up some race condition to detect that. Probably not, but the clock wouldn't work right in Adv mode anyway since it'd not simulate while off-site. (Also the unlikelihood of it keeping the water where it needs to be)

I want to know if this is maybe going to be in the next version, but I can't remember if we can do this now, as I haven't played or modded in a while. :I

Can we have a dislike thing for creatures, like prefstring...but not liking them? I'm sorry if it is confusing. I don't think we can now...

Only for vermin, like in the current version.  It's controlled by the VERMIN_HATEABLE tag, although unlike PREFSTRING, it doesn't have a phrase that goes with it.

RE slow dwarves. Pretty sure it's a migrant thing, mine do it fairly often in vanilla, though for me it has always been temporary.

I found some old threads addressing this, but nevertheless:
Question: Will there be crimes like theft and (non event-/invader-caused) murder in future DF versions?

Toady has said there are plans for it, yeah. Murder is already kind of in, by way of the fell mood. There was some discussion of the topic in DF Talk 7, I believe.

I still think that the whole fortress should be flooded with magma the moment you try dividing by zero.
This could be a handy way of teaching preschool children mathematics.

That's what I meant by "non event-caused" :)

Oh yea that could be fun, seeing the fortress guard doing an investigation. Having dorf soul remember seeing other dorf and depending on their personality, weather they would lie, or just not cooperate with the guard.

And when prosthetics are in together with theft we will get "Urist McAmputee cancels eat: Too Injured".

Also, playing as goblins would be vastly more awesome. Murder and theft would actually be fairly common.

I hope. I hate setting aside 10+ copper chains to literally never be used. I have not once seen a crime be committed in any one fort of mine.

Its one of those eventuals.

How many versions did we have to wait to have the soap maker be functional?
