Feel free to try these out.  My linux especially could be all messed up since I had to rebuild it.

40d10 linux

40d10 windows

EDIT:

on start had this pop up at me:

Thanks Alpha, it took me a little time to find this post but it fixed my problem too; though I generally prefer more 'solid' fixes than creating links like this, out of curiosity why is libtiff 4 used over the current stable version? (not that it matters much, from what I can tell it runs well enough using the link, but I'm just curious :))

I have problems with selecting materials, namely it chooses the top one automagically.  Not an issue if building structures of multiple pieces, but it is annoying to build single tile structures

@ledgekindred:  Try changing it a bit higher.  Go nearly up to 1000 and then decrease until it's usable.

This might fix the key repeat issue.

I'm not sure what the differences are between 40d9 and this one that would break the non-QWERTY keyboards.  I guess that's a new project.

Testing now.

It did get rid of the double strokes, apparently, but the up/down z level keys are still different. Not that much of a problem, really, just needs re-adjustment :P

Win XP SP 2 here btw.

OS X 10.5.6  iMac G4@1GHz (PPC7450) reporting key stabilization.  The keys feel a bit different, especially in menus, I can't tell if they're faster or slower;  but the blinking for objects/legendary seems different too, so it might just be an adjustment in what the graphics are like.  That's without partial print.  Oddly it seems less weird with partial print.  Which is working fine.

Apparently there is no auto-forbid for dropped items in combat in 40d9? I haven't tried 40d10 yet.

I only see 2 options:

I only see 2 options:

[PRINT_MODE:STANDARD]
[SINGLE_BUFFER:NO]

You replace STANDARD with something like:

[PRINT_MODE:ACCUM_BUFFER]
or
[PRINT_MODE:PARTIAL:<NUMBER>]
or
[PRINT_MODE:FRAME_BUFFER]

No, you don't need it, although it might amuse you for about 1.5 seconds.  It's a little open-source game that shares its graphics code with DF, so that people like Baughn could rework DF's graphics code without Toady opening up all of DF's source code.

damn, I'm getting the key-repeat error, in both d10 and d11. it only seems to happen some of the time, but even with the repeat value set to 1000 in the init it still happens rather regularly

which is a shame because my fps is awesome compared even to d9
