Actually, I was a worshiper of Beogh. The thing is, that whenever you kill a hostile Orc Priest, Beogh appreciates your killing of a heretic priest. Since all deep orcs worship Beogh, when they kill a player HO who worships Beogh, they are in the position of a player killing a hostile priest.

Oh I thought you got penance.

Got my 2nd win today! Naga Transmuter. It took a while. I played Cheibriados and went unarmed + armor + crossbows. My roughest moment was getting surrounded and corroded by slimes in depths, and had to blink twice. Luckily I had cancellation.

Wait, that removes corrosion?

Ya. It removes all your corrosion/slow/petrify/etc. Removes your good buffs too.

...Bugger! I thought it only worked on stuff with a distinctly magical origin, like sticky fire, most confusion, slow, etc. This suddenly makes entropy weavers a lot less threatening.

Got my first win with a caster: GrEE. I had incredible lack with equipment and spells from the beginning. The best moment was shattering everything in V:5 while standing on the stairs. Worst was a close encounter with Jorgrun with had me down to like 20 HP. I did not try to get hell or crypt runes. I got bored in Cocytus, the stairs were far from each other, when arriving at the 7th floor I was almost out of MP. Also Crypt:2 was tedious, despite all the resistances got lot of damage. It was a fun game casting all these powerful spells.

GrEE is pretty strong. Yeah Jorgrun demolishes gargoyles.

That reminds me: How do Tarantellas confuse Gargoyles? They are poison immune, so it can not be their venom.

I just had a lot of luck.

I was banished by a lich in Depth:2, and was banished...2 tiles away from the rune. I took it, used a TP scroll, and was sent....just 2 tiles away from the portal out of the abyss :)

Unfortunately, i died against TRJ in slime:5. Bad timing.

Simulcrum are already murder if they hit you, due to adding big cold damage.  An iron troll simulcrum is terrifying. Standing in the ice cloud doesn't help either, those hurt without good rc and/or ac.

Ice caves in general are really hard, or at least have the potential to be.  Volcanoes tend to be more predictable in their fire clouds, and usually have tamer enemies, in exchange for occasional loot timers.
At least they don't shatter all your potions and burn all your scrolls anymore...
