Finally got around to watching Rebellion. Had some great parts, but overall I'm not sure how much I was missing.

Gunfight was great, transformations were neat, cake song and attached Nightmare things were good... and then the rest of it appears to be Homura angsting and lusting after Madoka more. The uncertainty about who the witch was was good, and they even managed to throw in a fair bit of uncertainty with Sayaka... but it felt like it dragged after a while, and the "Homura becomes counterpoint to Madoka" thing felt contrived and poorly explained.

I'm curious if this was Urobutcher coming through, and not having any idea where to take the series other than "to more Homura angsting and lusting after Madoka and also the world ends sort of I guess."

Honestly I think they might have been better off just making Pretty Gangbanger Madoka★Magica from the get-go.

Of course, I always wanted them to make Pretty Gangbanger Madoka★Magica anyway, so there's that.

Do they ever actually show how the puzzles are solved in Phi Brain? If his bracelet glows and the puzzles are instantly solved for the rest of the show, then this show is stupid. So far the writers have copped out of showing the viewer any real puzzles, and when there are real puzzles, they don't show the viewer how they were solved.

I just finished watching "From Up on Poppy Hill" and I enjoyed it immensely. To summarize the movie, it's "Fucking Culture man, Culture EVERYWHERE."

and by that, I just mean that the world is so detailed and lively, so steeped in its own history and the traditions of its people, that I can't help but feel nostalgic for a home and time that I never lived in. Truly a great movie.

I recommend the Ghibli films "Only Yesterday" and "When Marnie was There" as well for a similar sort of vibe.

I've actually watched Only Yesterday before, and I really enjoyed it. It also has one of the most touching ending songs ever, such that I went out of my way to find it on Youtube, favorite it, and then never listen to it again because it threatens to crack me into tears with just the melody.

I'll have to look into Marnie though.

Just finished episode 18 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. This show is so crazy great.

Nazi cyborg Von Stroheim versus an ancient 2000+ year old Aztec Super-Vampire, in a distant cabin in the wilderness of Switzerland, during WW2. This show practically runs on highly concentrated rule of cool.

Finally watched the last episode of F/SN:UBW, and I must say that it was a rather satisfactory epilogue. It was even cooler that I've been to the place that they visit and seen what's there with my own eyes, which added a whole extra level of cool.

Definitely going to check out God Eater Burst when it comes out in a week or so, lets see if ufotable is going to keep up this level of animation in their next show as well.

Someone tells me when that gets dubbed in English because F/Z by Unlimited Budget Works was awesome. btw that's the only thing in the Fate franchise I've looked at, save the wiki so I could know what Assassin's name was.

At the moment Aniplex has released the subbed disc box but they have the rights for the dub if that ever happens.

I've never been happier to see a nazi cyborg.

When Stroheim showed up and saved the day with GRORIOUS GERMAN ENGINEERING I was literally cheering.

Why have I not watched this show sooner.

Only discovered it myself a few weeks ago per recommendation.

The next season is a very different mechanics-wise, but still worth a watch.

Finished it. Finished the 1st season of JoJo. My god the last 2 episodes were a ride. 10/10, best series I've seen since Kill la Kill.

Stroheim and JoJo you glorious manly bastards.
