what's not to like?

Really? How about the fact that it's a drawn character?

I still don't get why supermodels and pornstars are okay but not drawn characters.

I mean they are both pretty fake.

If you can find the part of my post where I address supermodels as the better choice to fawn over as opposed to anime characters, I'd respond with a tad more seriousness. I'm going to go ahead and assume you pick anime characters over actual women for a reason that probably came into being during your high school years (insert anti-nerd rhetoric here). You know, it's not incurable. You could go out to a nightclub, or even a bar. Just, if you do, do the world a favor and don't wear your shirt with kawaii emoticons or any kind of wapanese pictures on the front.

Used to like anime in middleschool back when it was still super nerdy to do so (had to rent VHS tapes from comic book store). Doesn't appeal to me so much anymore. What's up with all the super obnoxious/arrogant young weaboos online these days (not on this forum necessarily). My favorites were:

Guyver
Vampire Hunter D
Record of Lodoss War
Ranma 1/2
Dragonball Z

If we could refrain from posting nearly naked depictions of people or whatever that is, it will help the topic last longer, though I haven't gone through the whole thing so perhaps it's already far gone.

In other news, Torak was banned for repeatedly ignoring warnings about his behavior and jumping into a thread yet again to be a dipshit.

There are some animes which are safe to announce that you love and people will not consider you a freak you know. One that comes to mind is Dragonball.

Did everyone miss my post for some reason?

I asked if there are any freeware Animes available online, or more accurately if someone could link to them? Finding animes is easy, knowing if they are legal to watch is much harder.
Also, I probably need to specify that it should be PC.

Not really.

In any case, most ultra popular animes are usually good choices to test if the other party is receptive to anything anime related. Naruto and One Piece might be a little too recent if you're 20+ but things like Dragonball and Doraemon are good. Furthermore, if the other party enjoys talking about things like Power Rangers or Ninja Turtles (but not actually watch them anymore...), it's a safe bet they wouldn't mind talking about anime.

If you are looking for streaming anime which is legal to watch, armok, you could try www.crunchyroll.com
They used to be an illegal anime/general far eastern tv streaming site, but they've taken all of that down now and are collabarating with the creators to bring it to the western world. Basically, you can buy a premium account with them for the privelege of watching the anime when it is released in japan, with some of the proceeds going back to the studios, or you can wait a week and watch it for free, either way completely legally.

I don't think you'll find any anime which has only been released for free online. They're too expensive to produce without some sort of return... maybe you'll find one on a studios website, surrounded by ads, but it won't be subbed.

Ok, that looks like a good site.
There are a lots of animes there, any idea what might be a good introduction for me? requirements are 1) no nudity, 2) reasonably good and 3) reasonably short and finnished run so that I don't have to worry about watching 9000+ episodes or having to wait for months before it's continued. ("reasonably short" = 3-30 hours total)

Why is anime (or western animation for that matter) expensive to make? To me the fundamental technical process seems the same as the crappy five minute semi-crapy things you find on sites like newgrounds, only whit much better artists, software, voice actors etc. and longer.
World-class stuff I can understand is expensive to make, mainly because world class anything is expensive to make, but it seems the reason there ain't a whole bunch of medium-quality hobby-made anime by the same kind of people that makes webcomics around is just outside my field of vision.

Ahm...

Well, TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN!!!!! Is relatively short (27 eps.), AWESOME (like pouring the magma into those hippies), and, well, simple enough. (27 x 1/2 hour = 13.5, and I think one episode is a flash-back filler (basically to fill the gap between the first part and the second part of it)

And...

Argh, I don't watch that many anime again, except perhaps Hayate no gotoku. I do recommend it though, I just know that it won't appeal to many people (if anyone wants to prove me wrong, he can :D )

Hmm, there are not many hobby-made anime, that's for sure... But...

Eh...

I have some recommendation, but you must answer this question first:

Do you mind a series that's only comprised of girls? Also, nearly all is loli?
