You kindof danced around the real issue which is that it's essentially shallow wish fulfillment at the expense of actual romance or plot, but yeah.

Yeah, that is true. I tried to say that, BADLY!, but one thing I try to do is not make people who like that genre to be angry. Since a lot of the time it isn't an issue with the genre itself but rather the abuse of those genres.

So I watched End of Evangelion yesterday and I have to ask, why do people like this movie? Or this series?
I am actually curious, because I found both pretty bad. I watched it with someone who has seen the whole series and all the movies multiple times and someone who has never seen anything about it, and all three of us concluded afterwards that it was "like someone had taken bad LSD while reading a bunch of Sigmund Freud books."

Just wached the 1st episode of Sasami-san@Ganbaranai by SHAFT. I have no idea what I just watched but I'm pretty sure drugs weren't the only thing that was mixed in there than usual cuz'....you know....SHAFT & Shinbo.

The second part of EoE is pretty out there but I did enjoy the first part's...things.

Don't know why, but I binged on the Vampire Knight anime Saturday night.

Main character seems to be able to fight, but when it comes to it, weak and vulnerable anyways because damsel and emotions.  Probably cause not vampire either... but meh.

Saw up to episode 7 of Sword Art Online.

I don't like it at all. It's actually just a fantasy anime, but they call it a videogame so they can add random problems and cut off sensible solutions to problems that do exist. There's a lot of stuff that doesn't make sense. At times, it super dramatic for no reason. Virtually every character introduced until now is unlikable.

Also, the gameplay of the game sucks.

It gets a lot worse.  I made it to a little ways through season 2.

Good God it has everything I find cool. I kinda want to see the Roman Laen Empire trade blows with Imperial China Kou Empire.
