Wow, good episode, I'm glad I stuck around for this one.
I was annoyed at MC for being such a tool about falling for Togame and whatnot, but the way the episode explains how a sword works just makes it appropriate for him now. I also liked how Togame toned down for this episode, and it just made the sword/wielder dynamic between the two even better. I especially liked the scene that ToonyMan so graciously made a screencap of.
I hated MC for being all "Hurr, I done good and killed her," but then I remembered the whole sword thing and it's just like, "Well, he's just a tool for Togame to use for her ambitions." If I keep treating him like that, he can be as stupid as he wants, and I won't be able to hate him that much.
Thinking about this episode, I'm thinking that Togame is definitely in love with MC, or will fall in love with MC, since the idea behind the Shrine Lady's (I'm so bad at names) style was the concept of a blade being disposable. I think that the MC will 'poison' Togame in the same way that the other swords poison their owners, so if the MC were to die, Togame would react similarly to the shrine maiden that had her sword taken away from her. In episode 2, the sword became swifter when the sheath was bloodied. Dunno what it means for MC. Maybe he'll realize eventually realize that killing isn't all that it's cracked up to be? I'm pulling stuff out of my bum a lot, and I don't think any of this is supposed to matter, but it's fun to think about.
I'm still not a huge fan of Togame, since judging by the ending, she'll continue to be annoying, but this episode got her some cred.
Also, I still laugh at the "I'll have you fall for me" gag. Also love how the ninjas are just fodder for the sword-owners and fashion calamities.
