Well, the Haruhi one was probably an intentional, non-rippy-offy reference... but who knows, hey?

The resemblance is so striking it's not even funny anymore.

Wait, what metaphor was I going for again?

Also how do you read the books? The one place where I found them translated had them removed when I was midway through 9.

During the Endless Eight arc the LN even references Higurashi, at least I think it does, which totally makes sense given the time it was written, the time the arc takes place, and what's happening during the arc...

PDF all the way man.  I read all of Fate/zero with a PDF reader because I'm cheap.  You can find downloads of translated versions on sites like Baka-Tsuki and BakaBT.  I like it a lot better than reading from a website they could EXPLODE or something.

I guess I have to point out the obvious.

Yare yare

There's also EPUB but I'm unfamiliar with it.

So on a whim, I watched all of Carnival Phantasm except the Castle Special, as well as the first four episodes of Fate Zero.

Must be pretty good to hold my attention for this long. Gotta sleep now, though.

So I finally finished Trials and Tribulations, and I have to say, that was the most bizarrely emotional and yet most thoroughly complete ending to a game I've seen in a long time.

I'm not sure if the next one in the series is Edgeworth: Investigations or Apollo Justice.

Though I might just pick up another series by the same people, entitled Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.

Apollo Justice would be next, then Investigations.

You'll have to wait for a translation of Investigations 2 though, with me.

Holy crap the 'G.' route in Melty Blood is amazing.

This music is amazing.  Somebody needs to make a gif of her special move here.

Spoiler: I love you G. route (click to show/hide)
THIS IS ILLOGICAL /me collapses on the floor

Jegus fuck G-Akiha is impossible how do I even do this

I HAVE DONE IT, ALL HAIL SHIKI-SAMA

Woah, I just tried Melty Blood ReACT, I don't think I ever want to go back to the old engine.  French Bread are amazing.  In ReACT it's like I'm tearing down the other guys throat.  Shiki vs. Nanaya fights are amazing.

CUTO CUTO CUTO CUTO CUTO CUTO CUTO CUTO

Yes I finished pretty much every route in Melty Blood, the very last one involves defeating G-Akiha again so I'll just stick with ReACT now.  :P

ReACT has the same exact routes as the original version but with this newer engine I should be able to annihilate everything.

Finished Shiki's arcade route in ReACT
Spoiler: then I... (click to show/hide)

And now the Mahōtsukai no Yoru demo is out, perfect.  Beat them then play them I guess.

A watched all of X-Men: Evolution and it struck me how truly limited most western animation is.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I need to find Exo-squad on DVD somewhere, I heard they finally published it. That was a western cartoon that didn't hold anything back. Though I suspect nostalgia will not be kind to the old animation in that show.

FATE/ STAY NIGHT IS FINALLY FINISHED

193 hours played.  Goddaaaaaamn.  Well it's had a lots of ups and downs but the endings were good (with one exception).  And somehow the music got way better and suddenly introduced new tracks on the last day.  Argh it's like it ends in such a way that you just can't bring yourself to hate it at the end.  Anyway, time to announce the winner of the "dead/bad ends tally".

I don't think anybody could have a playtime lower than 150 hours, tops.  It's kind of ridiculous how long it is because some parts are horribly awful while others are pretty cool.
