So earlier today I was taking a bit of a break and felt like watching something before remembering I grabbed a few episodes of Youjo Senki a while back and never got to them.

The premise was kinda interesting and what the hell, there's not many WW1 shows of any kind that I'd watched. It's pretty nice so far, nothing too amazing but it's keeping my interest, plus it's a cool setting and the fights are pretty good looking.

Plus, any show that has an episode titled Deus Vult can't be bad.

Yeah its pretty fun since the main character is actually interesting.

Youjo Senki? It's one of Kadokawa's novels that's kind of a LN in terms of the physical book but uses the full kanji set and a more novel-typical formats. So's Overlord, which is why that's the one they picked to have a subway ad in the first episode. Youjo Senki's novels deal a lot more with philosophy and the particulars of military strategy and logistics, which the anime glosses over for reasons of time and because it doesn't fit well in the format.

Wow... there is such convolution in Hand Shakers (an anime I watched because I thought it would be more meaningful at first... NOPE!!!)

So they need to cook for the school fare. So all three class chefs broke their arms and there is no one who can replace them... The only explanation is that they were training in the mountains.

Except the recipe they are cooking is standard curry with rice and Curry Pasta (basically Curry + Something you boil plainly)... So not only could all three chefs still cook, but anyone could step in or at least chop.

This is weird because all these element seem to come together as if it was meant to be a comedy... Yet the anime plays it fairly straight and not even in a funny way. Why is it that I feel like I should have laughed at least once by this scene?

At the end of the Shin Mazinger Zero manga, in the unified universe in which shin mazinger zero is the only super robot, kabuto uses his connection to the black boxes inside mazinger to bring out every super robot imagined by people and make them real using the mazinger's energies. Lots of super robots made out of light come out, and if you pay attention, you'll recognize several of them as getter robo, dancouga, eva unit 01, gurren lagann, gunbuster and several others. Together they defeat zero and the univese splits back into a multiverse again.

I know I said this when I was watching Kejio, but it's really weird to wait for episodes to come out and feel the anticipation building as it gets closer. I guess that happens when you spend years watching long-since-finished anime on Crunchyroll, Netflix and various pirate sites.
