I'm trying to get at your meaning here. If it's about Revy specifically, it's not just a gag for the Japanese audience. It's part of her character; she's half-Chinese and grew up on the streets of some city or another. Doesn't mean it isn't funny, though.

I'm like a week late but Revy is a Chinese-American who grew up in New York's Chinatown.
Which is why the sub is hilarious in that she can't speak it worth a damn.

So I just watched Paprika.

Satoshi Kon. Kon. Wai u do. What even is.

That was indeed a rather weird movie.
The only part I sorta iffed on was the ending, other than that it was enjoyable.

So far I've seen Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers and Paranoia Agent by Satoshi Kon. They were all good, and I have the other two here ready to go when I have some time someday. I guess Paprika will be next.

I've also been getting into Masaaki Yuasa's stuff, going to watch Kaiba and Kemonozume next.

What other things have you seen from Yuasa?

Tatami Galaxy, Kaiba, and Mindgame are his must-watches in my opinion. Especially Tatami Galaxy. It's so good.

I am going to try to watch Fairy Tail again. The anime too good to watch...

I will admit the reason I have been putting it off is because the first 30 episodes were great... and if I don't see the garbage episodes then it is still good.
