I haven't gotten very far into Aria, but I'd also recommend it to whoever was looking for a no/light romance slice-of-life series. From what I've seen so far, it fits those criteria pretty much perfectly.

Yeah I thought it was just a matter of Konata being a fan and therefore referencing it as much as possible (like getting VAs to appear as themselves which strikes me as weird).

Starts with a typical bish evil overlord mentioning to nobody in particular that he has a grudge against the titular protagonist.

Considering the previous episodes, this will be completely subverted later on.

This episode was amusing but didn't really do a lot beyond establishing the character of Nyaruko's brother. I'm looking more forward to the next episode, which introduces the Shota in Yellow and mysterious green-haired MILF. Gee, I wonder who she could be. Is there any well known being from the Cthulhu mythos that's been unrepresented so far? Hmmmmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmm.

Have you tried out Aria: The animation? I watched that recently and thought it was an excellent non-romance slice of life show. And very unique as a "sci fi" series where there's no post-apocalypse or killer robots going on.

I've got it sitting on my computer since Kobold Troubadour recommended it, I forgot I had it sitting around. I should finish it over summer. I need to also finish reading YKK. Thanks again.

Finally got caught up with Fate Zero. Wow.

That aerial fight between berserker and gilgamesh was awesome, but what the fuck was gilgamesh riding? I don't remember anything like that in any mythology I've read. I was really excited when berserker grabbed the minigun, but equally disappointed when it was destroyed before he could fire it.

How much has rider's reality marble been affected by the Cthulhu-monster? He has "unlimited" soldiers under his command, right?

While I'm glad that I no longer have to deal with team ntr's antics, the way they were taken out of the running left me speechless. Seriously, Kiritsugu just became the least sympathetic protagonist I can remember seeing.

Watching Kayneth crawling towards Kiritsugu, begging for death, and then hearing Kiritsugu say "I'm sorry, but the geass contract prevents me from doing that" just made things that much worse. After Saber mercy-killed them off-screen, I really thought she would try to do something to Kiritsugu.

The talking after that was a very well-done explanation of motivations and ideals. I'll be returning to this episode to watch that again a few times, I'm sure.

And don't get me started on lancer. Poor lancer. Being lancer is suffering.

I've got a pdf of fate zero, but I'm not sure whether to start reading it yet, or to read it after the anime is over.

One thing I don't like is when people only watch the dubbed animes and then think those are the only ones out there, get sick of the dubbed, and then stop watching anime.  That miffs me a bit.

Oh and because I've been completely forgetting to mention it I've been playing Sengoku Rance besides Remember11.  I'm on turn 82 and it's really awesome.  Seriously Alicesoft you need to make non-ero games you'd make so much money.  I've already played as much Daiteikoku as I could before the 35% translation started not covering as much as I wanted.

Yes. I haven't tried Daiteikoku yet, but I played a hell of a lot of Sengoku Rance about a year ago. A lot of the humour is derived from how outrageous all the H-scenes are, and generally how ridiculous Rance is as a character; it'd be worth playing for Rance alone, but the actual game mechanics were solid enough to draw me in.

Hell yes. I was frankly floored at how much characterization there was in that thing.

I still don't like anime.
