I think female dwarves should have no facial hair but when in public, or even just in formal situations, they would tie their long hair under their chin to look like a beard. Or maybe they would only do that in battle.

Someone already said this.

You know, I just got the LEGO dwarf mine set today, and no matter what head I put on the dwarf bodies, they just wouldn't look like dwarves without the beards.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

LEGO dwarf mine set

It is a crime of the world that I was not aware of this until now.

Oh man, there's orcs too.  They even have big Warhammery banners.

It must be some freakin' weird thing if you say that I, LEGOLord, don't want to know.

Oh, wait, on topic, beards on female dwarves=yes, from weighing the evidence that I have chose-er, I mean, seen on this thread.

I, LEGOLord

I'm either dumb, illiterate, or impersonal.  It is then no where near as weird as I make it sound.  But I do love me some legos.

Topic: I am officially in favor of dwarven women with beards.  Anything that makes fantasy races distinct from each other should be encouraged, so that they're actual species instead of just weird ethnicities.  Who are all white.

Hmm...  Did Toady ever mention anything about skin tones?

I wonder how many of the people against bearded dwarven women (wodwarves?) feel that way mostly because they can't imagine themselves being attracted to such a thing.

That's probably more an issue with proportions than with facial hair.  You'd be able to recognize a dwarf at a distance or from behind, even if you couldn't see his (or her?) beard, from the relationship of the head to the legs, the width of the shoulders as opposed to the height, etc.

These are dwarvves we're talking about.  They're beards are huge (and the LEGO beards included dwarf hair).

I imagine that dwarves would tend toward the pale skin tones - if only because they don't get a lot of sunlight.

They're probably ruddy from all the alcohol, though.

Here is a hand drawn image about a dwarf woman. I find it perfect.
