Cave Adaptation IRL
« on: September 17, 2008, 04:41:03 pm »

Don't worry, no pictures people.

Whilst I was in the Library up at Kirtland Community College, I was reading through "Snoopicus and the Ham..." blah blah blah.

Anywho, I get up to leave. I go through the metal detectors just fine. No guns or shivs, just like I entered. As I walk out the main doors, I suddenly get an odd feeling, only for a second. I continue to walk out past the little overhang in front of the building, and BLAMMO!

I vomit all over the place.

Luckily, I have my Cleaning disabled.

My mother said she once got nothing done all evening because I crawled out of the yard, and she canceled everything for a couple hours looking for me. I was near a major river, too.

Thank goodness there were no carp, hippos or crocs.

Also, I find light reaches squares next to the light source, even if not directly underneath a light source. Thus why my computer adventures don't cause cave adaptation. Thank goodness for locating it next to the balcony.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

College cave adapted me pretty brutally. Though I don't tend to vomit, being in sunlight without sunglasses and a hat gives me an instant migraine now.

One time, me and my father went to a dank, windowless steak-house, and wound up staying for a couple hours.  When we walked outside, it was about 2PM.  We both had to stand leaning against some railing for a full minute or so before we could see or move.

Also, we were both hammered on black beer, which probably had something to do with it.  As I would expect my dwarves to be.

You should really consider getting out more. Or at least getting some kind of window-seat next time.

I found out today that a LOT of people got sick.

Bad turkey in the mini-wraps.

I still would like to think it's because I'm really a dorf in disguise, and if I ever find a pick at the college I'm totally going to start mining until I can run fast enough to compete in the olympics.

Become a bookkeeper instead. It's easier and doesn't have the risk of accidentally bringing the roof down on your head.

Luckily I have the "Likes working out doors" tag on.

So no I do not suffer from Cave Adaptation; well not exactly. I only suffer from mild cave adaptation, which only occurs if I am in a -z level, and in a boring class room.

I can't develop cave adaptation. My house has a roof over it.

That is of course in addition to the extreme muscles built through all your hard and back-breaking labor.  Those pencils won't pick up themselves up you know.

Try being a deep depression phase where you don't go outside for 2 months, then go for a walk.

I fell unconscious.
