"...[Fallout Fans] were the ones that made it popular. They were the ones that still liked it ten years after the fact even though it had released one mediocre and one terrible game, and was no longer popular."
I laughed.
So shouldn't said Fallout fans like Fallout 3, since according to you, this is a terrible/mediocre game?
Also, Battlefield: Bad Company butchered the lore of previous Battlefield games.
and Madden 09 butchered the lore of previous Madden games.
See where i'm going with this?
Sure, if you really are neutral, where did this flame come from?
Not a flame, first of all.
I was disagreing with you, because, once again, even having played none of the games and having no actual opinion of them outside of what i've read in this thread, I can tell that you were wrong there.
You claimed to be one of apparantly several Fallout fans who loved the game despite them being "terrible/mediocre" games, I thought it was funny that you would dislike a game that replicated this.
I also know, from playing other games, (such as those mentioned) that a game doesn't need lore, or to even follow th previous lore, to be successful, or to be liked.
What it needs to be, is
fun.
If you think Fallout 3 will be, at its very core, when you strip out the atmosphere and lore (or lack thereof) will be fun, than play it, and enjoy it. No harm done.
If you think that regardless of lore or atmosphere (or lack thereof) the game itself will not be fun, then don't play it, and let others have their fun. No harm done.
Edit: Once again, edited your post after I made this 'un, I am trying to be the voice of reason here, because noone else will.
