So, your answer goes after mine but I don't see an answer. Do you ignore me or have nothing to say? Please make things clearer, I want to jump in but I may get motives of your actions wrong so enlighten me to avoid flamewars.

[EDIT] I've just read the previous page again and there's nothing about fallout there. Ioric, could you change the thread name to something corresponded please to avoid my (and others) further confusion?

It's a twelve page thread.  One page is off topic, and one has only three posts.  I hardly think that's grounds for a name change.  What's going on here is I don't currently have time to continually say the same thing in different ways, hoping that someone will eventually actually read and understand my posts before responding instead of just deciding they mean whatever makes it easy to argue against them.

Case in point.  Twisting my statement that 'Bethesda thinks gamers are stupid' to 'Gamers are stupid.'

Quote
If you think Fallout 3 will be, at its very core, when you strip out the atmosphere and lore (or lack thereof) will be fun, than play it, and enjoy it. No harm done.

If you think that regardless of lore or atmosphere (or lack thereof) the game itself will not be fun, then don't play it, and let others have their fun. No harm done.
Translating...
Code: [Select]
if (you_like_fallout3) {
    play();
    shut_up();
} else {
    shut_up();
}

Code: [Select]
input_money(price);
if (you_like_fallout3) {
    play();
    if (you_still_like_fallout3) {
        iHappiness++;
    } else {
        shut_up();
    }
    shut_up();
} else {
    shut_up();
}
Fixed :)

It looks like shut_up() is a very popular function.

Rather inefficient...  More like:
Code: [Select]
if (you_like_fallout3) {
    play();
}

shut_up();

How about

Code: [Select]
shut_up();

do
  {
   you_like_fallout3=play();
  }while(you_like_fallout3);

edit:

or actually just

Code: [Select]
shut_up();
while(you_like_fallout3=play()) {};

LOL!

If shutup() actually was such a common function in human brains this thread would not be so big.

What is this thread about? Really?

Come on people, every time i read the "but you haven't played it yet" argument i somehow picture this certain animal banging its head repeatedly against the same stone over and over again. Seriously, wake up and smell the napalm. And although that might sound like a good thing seeing that we're talking about Fallout, no, i ment it in the worst way possible.
We're talking Bethesda here, Bethesda that even can't do their own games well, no worse, Bethesda managing to butcher their own games over and over again. How many times does it take to come close and deliver, maybe, 50% of the fun and depth of that one game you made, what was it, freaking 12 years ago? Can anyone look right into my eyes and tell me with a straight face that there is "a" chance, "any" chance Bethesda might be able to make a) a good game b) a decent RPG and c) you know what, forget about c) "a respectable Fallout game". Not even with the best intentions can i believe in that. Seriously, look deep into yourself, doesn't matter if you are a fan of TES, doesn't matter if you're a fan of Fallout, doesn't matter if you aren't a fan of anything. Look deep into yourselves and tell me there is a chance Fallout 3 might actually turn out to be ok. And then try living in horrible shame for getting anyones hopes up for what obviously is an utterly lost cause.

Yeah... Bethesta is in a rut and should be thanking whatever god they worship everyday that they don't lose all their cash and go bankrupt.

When they made oblivion... they basically said

"Alright, lets take out all story, variety, and many of the core components of the current Eldar Scroll series! Instead we will improve the graphics and make sure that there is a TON of content. Then lets start selling small parts of the game made to fix problems and plotholes for money! As we all know Gamers don't need fun, they just need a mindnumbingly huge game with little variety!"

It worked and they pulled it off. Oblivion is fun don't get me wrong... but I am surprised that you can actually get away with taking away from a series as long as you improve the graphics.

Bathesta is addicted to their graphics engine and are still using it as a crutch.

I liked Oblivion.  I liked Morrowind.  I have not played Fallout 1/2.  I am excited about Fallout 3.

I'd like to say that there are some things that I'd like to see improved.

Also, if I could have everyones attention:

Peace and love dudes,
...for those of you who are argueing for/against Fallout 3, remember, it just might not be your game.  If you want to bring back Fallout 2, please, by all means, get it out of your basement and play.  Mod the thing if you feel daring enough.  If you want to say that Bethesda isn't a good company, by all means, hug your Westwood and EA symbol plushies.  But please, don't be rude.

...and for those of you, including myself, who want to stand on the moral high ground and talk down to the previous two groups, please remember, you just posted in a thread that has the word "Stupider" in it.  If you expected people to be eating tea and crumpets in a peaceful manner, you need to really get your head checked.

I like the way they did the "called" shots.  It really gives it some depth in gameplay.

I tend to ignore most things people say on the internet, but how dare you even elude to that.

Tell me exactly who you think you are. I think you're doing the 'Oh I'm neutral but X is wrong because they're X oh yeah also I'm neutral.' crap that omath tried to pass off a while ago.
