I've made my own set of vicious, babysnatchin' lizard men.

They wear shorts.

They're comfy and easy to wear.

And they fight with everyone except goblins and themselves, which certainly makes the second year interesting.

I x20'd all predatory fish sizes, doubled the size and damblock of all megabeasts and added in this monstrosity;
The body parts;

The creature;
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I also have 5 different races always hostile to me, and goblin upped to size 22 and orcs at size 34.

Most of my forts last about 3 years at most.

A while ago i messed around with megabeasts, fatal mistake. Population of the world=5000,
50 were survivors from all the civs living together to survive. The rest were megabeasts. I added Rysith's Orcs to help kill them, OMG! , I had a population for once!. Thank you, Rysith. NEVER, EVER, add [CLUSTER_NUMBER:50:100] and [SEMIMEGABEAST] and [DAMBLOCK:1000] and [SIZE:50] TO MEGABEASTS!

I'm currently thinking of adding better armor to compensate for their all-wood and all-cloth equipment.
New Elf Slogan: "So, you think our reverence for mother earth makes our armor half as good as yours?  Not after EuchreJack gave us new armor!"
Maybe they can make fancy wooden armor by laminating different woods together. "Glumprong laminated banded mail" and "Giant pine scale mail". And of course they could use some poison arrows.

They should have the advantage from dexterity and speed. Elves should outrun dwarves and their dogs. It's a boring place where 90% of beasts have the same speed. So my cats are speedier than dogs, and my lions are slower than solo felines. Giant tigers slower than giant jaguars.

You mean "an army of invulnerable 2000-ton titans"? I estimate the size 11s at 1-2 tons, size 20s at 8-20 tons, and size 30s at 80-200 tons.

Dire Dragons and Magma Dragons.

Dire Dragons are, frankly, enough to make anyone shit bricks.  They serve a practical purpose in making world generation normal after modding in the Dig Deeper AND Civilization Forge mods into the game, which throw a wrench into worldgen.  They're [size:50] and nigh unkillable without a damned squadron of champions.  They've got [DAMBLOCK:50] on them, don't care for buildings very much, can fly and are amphibious, like to poison your dwarves with bites that do at least 30 damage and can, if the dragon so desires, do up to 60 damage per bite,  and are worth a fortune if you can kill one of them (unlikely).  I had to fight one once after recruiting an entire battalion of warriors from all around the kingdom.  By the end of the day, out of 13 fighters (myself included), me and two others survived, and that's because we (I) turned tail and ran.  That thing barely had a scratch on it, but man was it awesome.

I've also made a 4chan Fortress but it kinda sucked.

Oh, and just now I gave humans powdered wigs.

They arrive in groups of 10. Everywhere. 4 times a year.  8)

I made a race of giant feathered raptor-like things. I made them like fish... a bit too much, though. All the worshiped was fish, all the ever sold was fish, and after a while I just gave up and killed them each time they visited my fortress. They were like elves, but somehow more annoying.

I think I need to go back and make them more aggressive. They were fairly fearsome in combat, if you could actually convince one to fight you...

Currently I am still working on a mod based on a MMORPG game I still like to play from time to time. In which I made loads of changes to:
Metals - Removed many old metal types and implemented new ones.
Regular bars: Copper, Tin, Iron, Nickel , Raw Cobalt, Raw Mithril, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Adamantium.
Alloys : Bronze (Copper/Tin), Steel (Iron/Nickel), Cobalt (Raw Cobalt/Nickel) and Mithril (Raw Mithril/Platinum)
Gems - Removed all the old gems and replaced it with 18 new (some old) gems and the 1 rock crystal gem with 6 different crystals.
- Stones and Layers - Removed most currently used layers and changed some. Only now have Sandstone, Slate, Granite, Obsidian and Marble. Travertine has been bombarded into the new and improved [LAVA] tagged material, also replacing Bauxite as magma proof stone.

Made loads of changes to weapons, armor, shield and various other stuff to make them more resemble the game's weapons. Still have loads of work to do with adding friendly races, evil races, mega-beasts.

It keeps me of the street.

I made giant, fast, amphibious, fearless, painless, emotionless dwarves with ridiculously high damblock, Falcon Punch and without the need to eat or drink.
I just wanted to floor over the world and excavate the lowest z-level for fun and nothing should be able to stop them.
Of course, it got boring pretty fast, but it was fun nonetheless.
BTW: The "Falcon Punch" was just a ridiculously powerful punch. On second thought, it should have had heat damage and worked like a hammer to simulate the knockback. Ah, whatever, they were still lethal.

I made a crossbow.

It shoots anvils

I also added [trAINABLE] to every tamable creature in the dig deeper mod, because I wanted to be able to train war chickens.
Sidenote: I found out that if you train cats into war cats, they no longer adopt dwarves but they still hunt vermin.

I made a crossbow.

It shoots anvils.
How do you do that? I know you can change the ammo, but what exactly did you change there? Do they use quivers for their anvils? They can only carry one anvil at a time, right? Do you use the normal anvils or special ammo-anvils? Do they fly exactly like arrows or do they have a lower range? Does the damage modifier also apply to non-weapons? (Yes, I'm thinking about firing adamantine anvils.)
As far as I know every wielded non-weapon in adventure mode deals blunt damage. Arrows do pierce damage. Would firing obsidian short swords with a crossbow deal slash damage? That would be awesome! ;D
A different question: I read somewhere that you can change crossbows so that they don't need ammo. How do you do that, remove the line about the ammo? Do they deal damage? If yes, how much?
Edit: Can you change them so they fire cats?
Edit2: Did you change the existing crossbow or did you make a new one? If the latter is the case: Do your military dwarves even use the new crossbows? As far as I know, the weapon-changing stuff in the military menu is hardcoded.

errr... I just made a really heavy ranged weapon 'anvil launcher' which shoots a single anvil ammo item which does 500 bludgeon damage. I used entity modding to be able to make the weapons at a forge, and added a smelter reaction to make the ammo anvils out of normal anvils. I haven't tried but you might be able to put an ammo class tag on a normal weapon to fire it from a weapon(crossbows that shoot other crossbows?). Furniture is mostly hardcoded, so you can't really make a normal anvil that you can fire, but you can make an interchangeable ammo version that works fine. the extra weight seems to give it a fairly short range though(my dabbling hunter used it to one-hit a deer, but he had to get within 3 squares of it to fire)
